I'm well into more hyper realistic simulators, but at 25 ace combat 4 still holds a special place in my heart. It wasn't just my intro into the beautiful world of mil sim. It was literally the first game I had ever played. Fun fact while I'm here, if you fly under a bomber while it's dropping bombs, you can hit the bombs and the game treats it as a crash. 10yo me was pissed lol.

I still remember playing this for the first time and I was surprised by the amount of detail acting that went into it. I wasn't expecting what I got. I just thought, shut up and let me play. Then I realized, I was enjoying the background chatter. It was a completely different experience from the previous games I was playing. Afterwards, I was giving other PS2 games a much more serious piece of my attention. And they soaked it up. I especially loved Air Force Delta Strike. Took Ace Combat and made it more like an Anime with a crank up to a 15.
Surprising that there's car shows that you see cars that come out from movies and games but I'm surprise there's no airshow that show replacas of planes like ace combat skins
