Hello Javier Mercedes, could you pls shed some light on the ‘Which camera to use?’ matter please? I definitely don’t wanna waste money for a camera that I don’t actually need. Btw, I always have the latest iphone devices, so do you suggest me buy an actual camera for shooting videos? I’m so lost, tbh. I watched a lot of videos, but they could explain it as clearly as you do.
@@mujahidabdulkabiir5879 quick thing before you go buy a camera. Your phone will take great footage when there’s plenty of light. There are apps you can buy to shoot in flatter. Gimbals for phones are much cheaper too. Having said that, it’s impossible to get great lenses on your phone. The cost of lenses is something a lot people ignore when buying a camera (myself included). You can buy a camera for cheaper than your phone, but with that camera you [most likely] will have the capability to get great lenses that will make A HUGE difference. Also, if you want to start charging people as a photographer/videographer, there’s a perception that your service is cheaper (and inferior quality) if you’re just using a phone-no matter which model. Just like with everything else the answer [which we all hate] is: it depends. I hope this will help you a little until Javier releases that video 🤪. Wish you all the best!

Hi 👋 once I have added markers with notes in the dailies for an editor I know that I can output a transcript with notes, but can I export with tags? When I make markers and give the editor the project file the markers don’t show up on his end? Thanks in advance!

I use markers to set reminders to fix things later on all the time, shift+m, colored markers, and learning that I can see the name without having to click on it will save me a lot of time!

Hey Javier, for the thing you were asking on 9:30, I think the fastest way would just be to press m again after you shift m or ctrl shift m to a marker on the sequence then just delete

@javier Re: Your query at 9:30 ... The best way to delete multiple selected markers from a specific clip is to: (1) Select the clip in the sequence (2) Go to Markers panel (3) Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple markers rows there (4) Press delete. Does that help?

I marked moments directly in the source, which then get dropped into the timeline. But I can't see what I wrote in the marker description ,and can't drag the marker to be longer since it's on the clip and not on the timeline. How can I see what I wrote in this case?

This to and fro with volume slide on a track pisses me off. Also i keep losing fist letters of the fist word all the time. i have to press start wait a second or two then start talking. When dialog is very tight this is a problem..
Is there any way that you know of to add multiple markers at the same time? I am looking to place a marker at the beginning of each clip on my timeline. Typically, I would do this for each one as I go through them, but I am trying a new workflow with the new text editing features. I kept the spaces in the timeline where filler words were deleted, but want to now add a marker on each one of these segments. Any thoughts?

'Prior to installing Adobe Premiere 2022 back in August, I was previously using Adobe Premiere Pro1.5 on my newly built PC! Now I have an internal 256gb SSD Card along with swapping out my old 200gb HHD's with 1tb SSD's! I am constantly running desperately low in space in my C Drive (Win 10 OS & Programs x86 only on a separate partition, no Video files!) and wanted to know besides all of the Clearing media Cache Procedures should I uninstall the older Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 from 20 years ago?
Well if you have a working version of 1.5 I would keep it just from the stand point of it’s kind of cool having something like that but I’m not we’ll versed in all the computer spec material. Unfortunately whenever it comes to getting a new computer I just upgrade the Mac to whatever the highest available components are. I normally run and edit everything off external SSDs and only keep programs on my computer. Can’t really help with other input than that.

After uninstalling my beloved Adobe Premier Pro 1.5, (which indeed also works on a 64bit system, (my older Premier 6.0 only worked on my Virtual XP system) I used Adobe Premier 2022 Media Cache deletions along with all the Win 10 manual deletion methoids and gained only a few Gb's! Then I realized that I still had about a dozen finished Projects in an Auto-Save Folder and once I deleted those I regained half of my SSD space back!! What is your opinion of using my external SSD in my General and Scratch Disks space versus my SSD C?
Does anyone know if there is a way to take tell premiere to mark in and out to match the in and out of a marker? That would be useful. So you mark an interesting part of an interview with a spanned marker, and when you want to use it just click the marker and "mark in and out to match marker" and you can then easily copy that section of the interview.
Great video. I find the markers frustrating. I now just add a note on the upper track with a text layer. It's faster, easier to find and easier to read - at least for me.
Does someonw know how to move markers along with the clips? Ripple Sequence Marker just let me delete some parts of the clip. But, when I move the clip forward or add in between, the markers don't follow

There is a plugin called UA-cam chapters. Well, it doesn't export the markers as a txt, doc or any kind of file. However it show the markers as a text with timecode, so you can just copy the text and paste it in whatever file you want 😁
When I click 'M' a marker is placed on the video and audio tracks themselves. Not up top by the playhead. This didn't always happen. Is there something I need to turn on or a toggle? Thanks!
is there any way to go from a head the of the marker to a tail of the marker by one click, when I go to the next marker or previous marker it drives CTI directly to the head of that certain marker but when I stretch the marker out by using ALT and I want to position CTI to the tail of it, to the very end of that marker, it seems impossible, is there any method doing it? thanks

TOP TIP: If, like me, you prefer markers to go on the TIMELINE where they are more visible but the default settings mean they get placed on whatever CLIP is active, just lock all the tracks (Shift+lock symbol). Now nothing can be active and markers land on the timeline.

You can also use markers to sync audio from the source monitor into your timeline if your audio and video files are separate. Very handy for creating multicam sequence syncs 👍

Complementary informations: you can add keyboard shortcuts for changing a marker's color or adding a marker of a specific color. The "Simplify Sequence" option can help you clear all markers of a specific color without deleting the other colors.

thank you. I was trying to automate sequence but it never worked because my markers were on the audio clip itself and not above it but this video helped. :)

Awesome video Javier! Is there any way to lock the position of a specific marker in timeline so it keeps in the same timecode, even when using ripple delete / ripple trimm? Markers are my life lol. Ripple trim next edit to playhead is how I often move stuff on my timelines that have markers. 1 shortcut.

When i accidentally pressing on marker area the playhead automatically moves to the beginning of marker. How to disable that? This is really annoying.
What about clip markers being able to snap to other clip markers? etc!
Just make sure your snap to timeline is turned on and I believe it should work.
There is a way to apply a extended marker markin in and out? Or just dragging with the mouse?

Make sure the clip isn’t highlighted when applying the markers and it will add it to the timeline

they still have some drawbacks but they can be quite useful for some workflows for sure
When deleting markers I usually navigate to the marker, press 'M', then click the delete button. That's the fastest I've found

Is there any way to export or preserve cuts or markers for future. If i were to import video to premiere can i get markers information already available? Or maybe any external file with timecode information which can be used. I am looking for something like this unable to find.

thank you. I was trying to automate sequence but it never worked because my markers were on the audio clip itself and not above it but this video helped. :)
Only thing this video missed is you should have " Ignore selection to timeline" ticked on, after clicking the markers panel tab, but great video man I learned a ton!
Thank you, great video :). Is it also possible to jump to clip markers? I've got the latest Premiere Pro version, but I can only jump to the sequence markers by clicking on the thumbnail. For clip markers, it doesn't work.

And that explains why my markers are always in a different position from where I put them, making them basically useless (unless you put them when your work is done and you don't need to add or cut anything any longer).

Is there any way to lock the position of a specific marker in timeline so it keeps in the same timecode, even when using ripple delete / ripple trimm?
One of my clients needs that his videos never exceed the 2 minutes long so would be great to have a marker right in that timecode and also that it's not affect by ripple tools.

If that's the case, I would just set my in/out points to the 2 minute mark, unless you use us them to ripple delete then I'm not sure.
