Thirty Years ago I had the pleasure of spending a few hours in his company and the experience is as vivid as the evening itself. A kind and generous man.
I saw this great drummer for the first time together with Benny greb and making fun together with many more drummers. Have checked him out what a super inspiration that man was Rest in peace 😢...this man must get a special place in heaven.
l play Timbales (cuban drums) in a Salsa Band and l watched all of the "The Sessions" videos, all of them. Watched Dom not only because he was a great interviewer but because he was a great human being. So freaking loving of music and loving of people. l am mourning his loss greatly. l'm gonna miss that guy! RIP.
Dom is the man!!! Love it when people are SO passionate about something. Drumming as an art, form of expression, a culture, & a way of life wouldn’t be what it is today without the man. Huge respect for him.
After drumming for 37 years and the pandemic sending me broke financially I lost motivation but now with a few simple ideas without any big plans I'm just going to do something different than what I've been doing for the last ten years which has been music from west Africa I'm a bit tired of djembe anyway and will get back into playing kit and see what happens from then on
hahaha, grinning, haha, interesting, hahaha, absolutely, absolutely, I did this, I did that, while smiling, speaking more slowly to feign being interested in the subject and then, ofcourse, start talking about myself, showing lot's of teeth, and start getting excited about something, haha, and then wrap it up with a generic statement, while nodding my head, laughing, haha, so incredible
I'll never forget the inspiration this man gave me while at a drum clinic in austin texas, i ended up winning a sabian cymbal signed by him, a sabian banner and a private drum lesson with him the next day. that was 30 years ago and i've never felt like that again since. RIP Master, say hi to the Professor for me.
He was a great inspiration and one of my favorites. God bless you Dom for your contagious enthusiasm and positive energy. RIP

I saw Dom play with Steve Smith in 1994 in Vancouver.
Is Dom’s new book Owning Now been released yet?
RIP. I don't think he fully knew what an inspiration he was.

I love how he embraced the educator role. No one was better at it.
