Its true, they both combined feminine power and elegance. No crying, no overdone drame like totays woman players. Today is is more a kind of maskuline power without elegance, but combined with extraterristical screaming following every stroke...:-) In my opinien the best combiners of athletic AND feminin playing style in ladies tennis ever were steffi and justine.
Even though Graf won this match, you can see that she's still finding her form after taking time off at the start of the year due to the German measles. Her footwork especially was not up to her usual level. And she seemed to be seeing the ball later than usual here IMO.
Absolutely. It looks almost like she is pressing too hard, like a car that couldn't get into gear. I remember her matches during that period seemed to have a lot of unforced errors.
0:00 ... Players aren't taught to run themselves out of the point. That is why MJ is doing the smart thing here and shading crosscourt, off a neutral return down the middle. With that forehand, however, Steffi subverts almost all the conventional tennis strategies. If you shade crosscourt and she has a ball in the middle of the court, Steffi is going to flip her hips and hit inside-out. It's the ultimate advantage.
MJ played a very good match. However, just like Ferrer vs Federer in men’s tennis, no matter how hard she tried, how close the match became, Steffi could always find a way out. It’s a shame that a good player like her never beats Steffi in professional matches in her career.
Beautiful tennis from two very elegant players ❤

MJ was not a good tennis player! Idk how she's doing commentary work 😂😂😂

Did Ferrer ever beat Federer?
@@Ttjam1 nope. Federer leads 17-0 (same as Steffi vs Mary Joe)
@@JacquesHsu Mary J beat Steffi at Cap d Adge 1992.
@@justtennischannel2 Yes, but that’s an exhibition match, not an official one.
@@JacquesHsu Yes, it is. It used to be greatly funded exhibition tournamnent. I loved it. I have some matches, Steffi vs MJF included.
