      @@MrTechTalkTutorials Ha ha! I didn't even realize I had done that. Exact same notes as last year's etude one. You know, that's how the jazz language works. When I write these etudes, I am writing very close to what I would normally play in an improvised solo. The difference is you how much material is crammed into 32 bars. But yeah, this is a great example of how the jazz language works. There are bits and pieces of our "vocabulary" that we use in very much the same way we use words when we speak. If we were talking about words in a poem and not licks in a jazz etude, you could have been saying that I used some of the same words as I did in last year's poem. Which wouldn't have been a very big deal. Ha ha... but with jazz etudes, it kinda is. Shouldn't be....but it is. Thanks for pointing that out. I wouldn't have noticed.

    Are the sixtuplets supposed to be slurred?? I've been struggling with this for a while now

      Slurs in jazz are interpretive. You slur where it sounds good to you to slur. I would imagine almost everyone will be slurring the sextuplets.

    Does anyone know a guy like this, but for trombone? As in plays all the etudes, so you can listen to what they sound like

      The trombone videos usually take longer. I was able to release these videos the same day that the music was released because I'm the one who composed the etudes. So I already had them. Other people will need to order the music and wait until it arrives in the mail. And then spend the time recording the videos. And even then, there's no guarantee that a trombone player will do all of that work any time soon.
      A friend of mine has done a few over the years and he does a wonderful job. But he doesn't live in Texas anymore. So I don't think he's doing them anymore.

    What note is that near the end? The high one

    • @eltigredo
      @eltigredo  5 років тому

      It's just a D flat. Sounds high, but it's not as high as the other two etudes.

    • @tylerjones7806

      Eddie Lewis Does the third one go above D?

    • @eltigredo
      @eltigredo  5 років тому

      Yes. The third etude has an E Flat in it. Is range an issue for you?

    • @eltigredo

      I have the third jazz etude scheduled to publish at 11:00. So it's coming in the next 80 minutes.

      Eddie Lewis Range isn't really an issue for me, I was just wondering haha
