Yarders like that are used to get logs up steep hills and out of canyons and valleys. Here in Oregon we stretch out over a mile of cable to attach to the spar tree on the other side of the valley. Its an impressive thing to see in person.
I think Discovery channel used to have a logging show that had something like what you described.

Great vid Dagger! instead of tabbing through all the vehicles you can press shift+tab and it will tab in reverse ie the last bought/reset machine. Also with the yarder, if you hold the scroll wheel you can move the grapple up and down. In reality the boom will generally stay in position except for rotating to give clearance for dropping the logs and the grapple will depend from the line down to where the log is. Great vid tho, hope to see you do more forestry in the future
Hey Daggerwin I really enjoy your videos. Please keep up the great work. For all of those doing logging if you crouch while you run the length of the tree with the chainsaw it removes the branches much better.

The yarder is an interesting bit of work. One benefit not mentioned is that you can fly your cut wood out over all the pesky stumps giving you the option to grind them or just leave them. Thanks Dagger.

I almost never use those belts because I don’t understand them. They seem to work differently per map. Sometimes they pick up all the way to the back, sometimes they pick up a 5’ by 5’ area and are silly lol.

Dagger, I've noticed that you always put the bucket of the excavator and the crane to the rear of the trailer. Locally, when the trucker transports those kinds of vehicles, the bucket is turned towards the cab of the truck. That empty space at the front of the trailer is where the bucket rests. That gives the rest of the length of the trailer for the unit to sit on.

May I suggest you try the NMC snowblower next time you do a silage sell? Hook it to tractors front and a trailer on the back, you can just drive up to the pile let it fill the trailer, then backup to the sell point (pretty much always right in front of the bunkers anyway) and sell a bunch at a time, and it saves about 34 conveyers.
that is for logging on hills/mountains. you park it on top or bottom and run your line. We used them in West Virginia. You want a skidder and processor for flat.

that yarder is pretty cool i havent used it much because it takes ages to set up especially on the map i was on because the low loader kept grounding out but it seems like a good mod ill just have to set it up well.

@17:50 well in real life its also a pretty skilled thing, and it needs to be done fast, turnover for pulplog loading is as short as possible because margins on wood arn't big, now to be honest in real life its probably easier because you have a much better depth perception and probably would do that job mainly not also other things

They need to add a way to tie down the machine I have a low loader mod and the slightest corner it gets a massive lean on it and the machine falls off
Passenger mod was out for fs15 also, used to watch a father n son play let’s plays on a long term multiplayer map
Where you have the john deer is called a landing so u just pull the trees to there then you need a loader to load the trees on the trailer after youve cut them to a manageable lenght
In the past few days there has been a low loader that came out by nmc that is fantastic.
There was a mod for a low loader released that has side extensions. You can lift and lower the front 5th wheel and rear suspension. I forget the name but it's a brand new one to be added to the mods.

thats one thing i think worked better in 17 was using the chansaw to take foilage off of trees vs 19

he might have had the exit enter point on the actual clam, i had noticed that there was that option (if he said that i missed it)
you can change the exit enter points from the grapple to the machine because it'll work better for extreme terrain
