Normal People is painfully poetic. It depicts and addresses relationships , young love , mental health, loneliness and people's insecurities in the most truthful manner. The story was really beautiful ; two people growing up to become completely different people than they were as teenagers. The chemistry b/w the leads was absolutely breathtaking.

I read the book and then watched the show. It helped me in so many ways. It helped achieve closure for things that weighed heavy on my heart. It helped me understand things i was feeling but didnt know how to put into words.
Yesterday i finished the series, the way it portraits life, love, anxiety, lack of self esteem, loneliness... a powerful script. Amazing series.
I've watched this series 3 times.
Nothing replaces it.
I‘ve seen& saved heaps of Normal Ppl edits but this one is by far the best one! Started to cry all over again- masterpiece!

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death.
I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse.
People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.
Most people consider their platonic best friend to be their soulmate rather than their romantic partner or spouse.
My husband of 20 years have become my best friend over the years. We still love to make love with each other. We fight. We talk. Its about being able to be vulnerable with someone. I wasn’t at first. He still struggles. But it becomes an intense and a magical kind of a relationship we learn to open up ourselves…. And really care for the other..

Statistically speaking, women are happiest when single and childless in today's times. Also, women can have friends and biological family that they share a life with. We as humans need the presence of other humans in our lives yes. But we can live alone. We don’t need romantic relationships to survive. We do need love and support, but it can be from friends and family. It does not need to be from a romantic partner.
Studies also show that single women are far happier than their married peers, and that married women lose out in career earnings, career trajectory, health, and life expectancy compared to those single peers as well.
Married women live shorter lives, and report lower levels of happiness than women who never marry. Single women live longer than married women. Also, according to many studies, women have higher rates of depression when married.
