Why is it necessary to get the company name on it ? If you aren't planning to commit fraud by selling it to an unsuspecting poor guitar player or collector, it's possible someone handling your estate after you transcend this world will unknowingly do the same. You can eliminate your part in the potential deception by removing the company name (or adding your own made up name) upon request when you order one.
Hi Timothy. Great question. The answer is, the appearance of authenticity. These replica guitars were purchased as art to be hung on the wall. In my opinion it would be hard pressed to pass one of these off as authentic, especially signature models. You being a guitar player would immediately know they aren't real (frets, knobs, switches, tuners, etc.). They just look the part. As for my estate, my adult children who are musicians as well, know why I got these, as art. Being that my business is music/audio, I document every purchase I make for insurance and tax reasons, with receipts. So overvaluing something like this would be pretty involved. I know there are people out there with ill intent, that's a fact. As far as ordering a custom guitar like this, I just wouldn't. They were in stock and definitely an impulse buy for an interesting, impulse decorative idea. I certainly understand where you are coming from. I appreciate you commenting on this.
I am in 100% agreement with Timothy. You have no possible way in ensuring the morality within the chain of custody once the guitar leaves your hands or leaves your estate. Ordering replica guitars, recklessly, putting brand name logos on the headstocks, well 100% put that guitar into a marketplace with unsuspecting victims being duped at harder money. Your choice to participate in this is irresponsible
