Talampaya & Ischigualasto National Park - Webinar

Created in 1997, Talampaya National Park is located in the central-western part of the province of La Rioja, within the Cuyo region. It has a surface of 215 thousand hectares and it is catalogued as one of the 10 best landscapes of the mythical Route 40.
Translated as "dry river of logging", Talampaya is one of the most important attractions of the region. An invaluable geological treasure that can be enjoyed through various activities.
The qualification of protected area aims to preserve paleontological deposits of the Triassic Period unique in the world as well as archaeological remains (including cave paintings).
Annually, more than 50 thousand tourists arrive at this Argentinean region to appreciate the reddish walls of more than 150 meters high, the condors that nest in the peaks and the forms carved in the mountains caused by the erosion of rain and wind.
The excursions are varied: walks along self-guided trails, hiking, photographic tours, bicycle circuits, vehicle and 4x4 tours, bird and fauna watching, night walks on full moon days, always in the company of qualified guides.
The place has a warm and arid climate, with great daily thermal amplitude and intense solar radiation. The area can be visited all year round, however, the best seasons to visit the area are autumn (March-May) and spring (September-December) since the climate is moderate, sunny and dry.
It is important to keep in mind that the park reaches its peak of visitors during Easter Week (holidays at the beginning of April) and winter vacation (first weeks of July).
