It is 110% worth it to get the lotro store universal tool. It is cheap, only 150 Lotro points, which you can get in game without spending IRL money. It makes going from one craft or node to another much easier and faster than having to unequip and reequip the craft tools manually.
I played back when it first went free to play. Surprisingly, they still had my account info, if not my character info. So it's back from square one, but I have my old Turbine points that I can spend. Thanks for the updated info and info that I had forgotten.

First of all, thank you for this video and ALL of your videos, I enjoy them all and find them very entertaining and informative!!! [START RANT] - I’m so frustrated with the LOTRO crafting system. I HATE the “forced” crafting professions!! Most of the groupings of sub-classes don’t make sense to me and seem like a complete waste. I have a Hunter who has the Explorer crafting class and I have NO IDEA why I have Prospecting as a sub-class????? It’s completely out of alignment with my Woodsman gathering skill and Tailoring skill. I’m now in the position where 2 of the 3 materials that I can gather are meaningless to me. I can’t do anything with wood or metal. It would have been so much better if I could have chooses Woodworking as my third sub-class. Then I could actually do something with all that wood that I’m gathering instead of just dumping it. Same with my Champion, why do I have Tailoring? Why can’t I have Weapons making? I wish LOTRO devs would just let you “choose” three sub-classes from the array of gathering and crafting skills available and let you do your own thing. This feels like they are trying to force you into, either playing with other people (because you have to trade to actually get what you need to craft) or have multiple characters and purchase shared storage. It’s a very frustrating choice of game mechanics on their part. [End Rant]
I think one of the reasons why this bugs me so much is that the game gets so many other things “right” and for this to be wrong (and because it’s such a no brainer) just makes it seem like they did it on purpose.
But I guess if their aim was for me to create additional characters that only ever get logged into to craft items and take up space on their servers then they succeeded wildly.

Yay!!! Welcome back! Also thanks for serving! The game is a bit more streamlined now. Make sure you follow the story quest lines. That will make it much better.
Go to a profession trainer. They are in most crafting halls. Bree, thorins hall, elf place, hobbit Michel Delving. Etc. Learn it, then turn on your tracking skill it will give you. Make sure you have your pickaxe equipped. Then you should be able to farm copper and tin on the map. Once you level up your crafting skill Prospector in the panel, you can do next levels of ore.
Yes! It should be under your skills. Press K on your keyboard. Then, it's under toggle ones or passives tab... one of those. If for some reason it will not let you drag and drop it onto your bar. I recommend going into options settings. Go to quick slots. And make sure you uncheck lock quick slots. You can also do the opposite if you want to make sure they don't fall off your bar.

Great, it's always had a large fan base. It's not a massive game but it's also not a small game. Good amount. Alot of new players since the awesome Free2play revamp too.
Depending on what you are making. And yes I believe you can make very good stuff still. I have not hit the new max level yet with gundabad expansion at time of this message

Thanks, yes. I feel some updates are needed. I like they have so much crafting. But some things are out dated. Needs refining.

those day tin ingots is something u buy from the vendor
they wanted to make it simpler at the low levels so u don't have 3 type of resources.

You can. If you plan to craft I do recommend you gather resources and get up your gathering skill at least
