I love your enthusiasm about it, congrats on the purchase! I've been interested in Fossil/Skagen's hybrid watches for a while now, my favourite would be the Fossil Hybrid Collider. They look really good and I love e-ink. But I feel like they're missing some important features that for me every smartwatch should have, such as GPS and NFC for payments, to leave the house without the phone while still being able to track data about a walk or run, and buy something. So I'm hoping they will add new features and fix old ones in future iterations, but they haven't so far. Gen 6 still has the same display (higher speed resolution would be nice) and the same ugly blue night lights in the corners (a warm backlight like there are in ereaders would be so much better). Until then, the Fossil Hybrid HR Collider and the Skagen Jorn Gen6 are on my watchlist!
Hi, thanks for the video . Could you please check if it can show week number in the front screen? I cannot find that information. I will buy it for sure if it does
Nice review. I've been using the sister company Fossil version. Love it, but I ran into issues, the screen fades off after 6 months (twice after replacement)... Both mine and my wife's faced the same issue. I'm curious about the Skagen if quality control are better. I've replaced the Hybrid HR twice as it is under warranty... hoping it will last for the 2nd replacement. Would love to hear your mileage to understand better. From what I know from testing and research... it has something to do with the temperature causing the E-Ink to fade out. The service center also acknowledge it but only Fossil. Hence I'm very curious on Skagen.
I would think Skagen would face the same issue since Fossil is also its parent company. I wish vloggers would respond to questions like these. I always feel that vloggers are fully aware of such problems but choose to remain silent on them in order to push product sales.
All I can say is that I've been using Skagen Jorn (exactly the same as the reviewed model) for 1,5 years and I haven't noticed a single thing change with the screen. No deterioration whatsoever. The only problem I experienced was about two months in, the glass fogged up in the middle (about 1cm diameter area) when I entered a refgierated area in a supermarket. Of course, the fogging dissipated after a couple of minutes and, strangely, it hasn't happened since, even though I visit that store regularly. I think fogging in watches usually gets worse with time, but for some unfathomable reason it got better in my case. Regarding your problem - no idea. You are literally the first person I've ever seen mentioning this.
Loved you enthusiasm and watched the whole video for it!
🎉 I’m beginning to appreciate hybrid watches after seeing this watch.
