The purpose of Morton’s fortress on World 6 is to rush you on certain areas mostly in the middle, because of the giant sized skewers, or simply known as spiked pillars, one on each vertical side of the fortress, or simply the bottom to the top, which will firstly move and stop for a second and then drill its way forward at an incredibly rapid speed until it hits a wall that stops the pillar, and then move backwards to its starting point afterwards to repeat its cycle. No matter the size of these objects, the skewers are not only lethal, but they are, of course, indestructible, so there’s no way to dispose of them, ever. Both skewers in this level mostly serve as a main danger throughout it. Other than that, skewers are one of my most favorite obstacles in the Super Mario series/franchise, making this fortress level as my most favorite one of all towers.
