Taliesin had a lot of fun playing a character who is *the* man who invented guns in this setting. He really enjoyed playing the sort of character, and imagining what sort of things a man has gone through that he would go to such depths as to make that ultimate mistake; being the man who introduced guns to the world.

First off, to echo practically everyone here, Pike is a CLERIC, not a paladin. A WAR DOMAIN cleric, in fact. Second, it’s about damn time you got around to doing a countdown related to Critical Role. This makes me hope that you do more of them, especially from the actual campaigns. 1. The Dark Forces are called "Wights"...2. Pike is a War Cleric. 3. The Dragon is Brimscythe. Krieg name dropped it in that episode. 4. The demon is Orthax voiced by Mercer
All the fight scenes in Vox Machina are so good! Percy vs the school teacher is probably my favorite one. It showed how well Percy was able to use his intelligence to win rather than brute force.
Albeit a brief moment, the sight of the Bearer of Bad News, "No Mercy" Percy, anime running towards a dragon without having even drawn his gun left me utterly stunned.
Oh gods killbox better end up in there, such a strong character moment for Grog! Tbh I haven’t a clue how they’d be able to shrink that arc to one season I’m thinking either longer season/episodes or this is gonna be season 2&3.
@@louisemckn Apparently there's meant to be 2 seasons each with 12 episodes, so there'll be one more season. I guess they'll do longer episodes to fully fit that arc in, or the arc will just get shrunken down.
Yeah, the CC arc scares me. If they don't announce at least 2, hopefully 3 more seasons (on top of the 1 we know we're getting), the Chroma Conclave arc is going to feel super rushed. The Briarwood arc was 10 animated episodes covering 11 campaign episodes. The CC arc is 45 episodes in the campaign (50 if you include the Vasselheim episodes between Underdark and Briarwoods that set up certain elements that come back up in the CC arc, like Zhara/Kash, Victor, and Jazz-Hands). I don't think they can do it in less than 4 seasons. And they still have "The Whispered One" on top of that, for at least one if not two more seasons.

I’m convinced they called Pike a Paladin on purpose to get more engagement. She’s called a cleric in the show. Literally any search about her notes her as a cleric. Sure she’s a war cleric, the closest you can be to Paladin without being one but still… they even made a divine intervention joke, a fucking cleric ability. Seriously they had to have done it on purpose
Yeah, I can see that as done on purpose. Just like on their top ten mecha they included escaflowne and had the most notable theme from the series playing in the background, the only lyric in that song was escaflowne's name. And yet when they said it, they left out the E at the end as if it was silent even though it was very clearly pronounced in the music.
the og scanbo may be the most chaotic and jaw droppingly insane 45 minutes of combat ive ever seen, it gives the jack sparrow energy of having absolutely zero plan and somehow pulling it off in a way that statistically should not be possible
Honestly, clerics and paladins are so similar that it's not surprising that, if you don't know the show, you could mistake Pike for a paladin. Her armor, her demeanor, her combat style - all scream paladin. Other than the few times we see her heal, she has far more paladin energy than cleric.
I feel like she is super bubbly and happy-go-lucky in the campaign giving her more of a cleric feel. The tv series let her act more serious and rude and aggressive which only then exudes the paladin energy.
Big correction: Pike is a CLERIC of the Everlight, not a Paladin. The only Paladin of Vox Machina is Vax, but that is a lot later in the story and who he is a Paladin of is a massive spoiler. I just don’t like invalidating Pike as a Cleric when Clerics are one of the most powerful classes out there.
6:26 pike isn’t a paladin, she’s a cleric. The reason she’s so good at combat is because she’s a war cleric and being a cleric in general is the Ultimate counter to undead once you reach level 2 in the class

At this point Keyleth has this huge advantage of having an infinite amount of "turn into animals" use. I honestly love villains like the Briarwoods. Sylas was dying, and may have even died, when he was still human. Delilah used her formidable power to find a tome and make a deal with Vecna. Sylas becomes an undying vampire, Delilah starts down the path to becoming a lich, and the price to pay is helping Vena ascend to Godhood and conquer/ damn the world. Are they still in love? Yes. Do they have any regrets? Absolutely not. Throughout the course of the first campaign, Sylas and Delilah would fight, kill, die and get revenge for each other multiple times and it never got old or stale, it was always poignant and impactful.
Like many fans I'm hoping S2 has the fight that has one of Grog's best combat moments simply known for being one of the awesome Nat 20 moment a Nat 20 moment that has what is one of the best battle-cries ever "FOR STRONGJAW!!!!"

Believe it or not, Scanbo was significantly more chaotic in the campaign. If CC is split into multiple seasons, I hope Killbox is the end of S2. That might be one of the best fights in all three campaigns.
The animators killed it in the last 3 episodes. Orthax was so fucking cool
I'm a little disappointed the Bar Brawal wasn't present because that was the starting fight that showed where they strong and where they need to grow making it a real ideal esablishing fight and scene
This is the first animated series that I have watched literally since I was a kid. It was epic. SO excited for season 2, although I expect it'll be a while haha
End of the year/early 2023 ;)
@@nuru666 yeah I figured. Until then, soooo many rewatches haha
@@SGeeeDubb ngl, I've probably watched it an unhealthy number of times already.
@@nuru666 it’s legit a weekly thing for me now haha
@@SGeeeDubb Only weekly?! ;)
You know you did something very special when you're featured on a WatchMojo video...
Little nit pick, pike is a cleric not a paladin. Other than that great video!
Pike is NOT a paladin. She is a cleric. There is a difference.
Literally paused video to come to comments say Pike is a Cleric
@@melissarosia3585 came to comments to see if anyone else had caught it.
"Being a Paladin"?? Pike is a CLERIC. And that was not a divine intervention, that was astral projection.
Literally half of the comments on this video are to point out that Pike is a Cleric. Don't believe me? Switch the *Sort By* from "Top comments" to "Newest first". So you're just adding to the noise here.
@@Celedam thats exactly the point. This os f. Watchingmojo, hundreds os comments, wich means one or two will be missed, but not a thousand. Research better before posting something. (You and nojo especifically)
@@rodrigoramirop No, that's ridiculous. This isn't live chat, where you're trying to catch a streamer's attention in the moment.
Furthermore, nothing is going to come of this. WatchMojo isn't going to take the video down or issue a correction. It's a trash channel that cares only about engagement stats and ad revenue, which you have given them.
So either you're trying to rationalize this after the fact, after I've pointed out how ridiculous it is, or you're one of the masses who've been brainwashed by social media to believe that you're a very special boy whose every utterance is interesting and insightful.
I suggest you claim the former, even if it's not true. You really don't want to claim the latter.
My favorite scene was the first time Percy put on the plague mask and blew off the hands of the driver just to end on that note, not to mention if you watched as it came out like I did u had to wait a whole week to see how that awesomeness plays out...such a dope show I really NEED more episodes!
Hey did you guys know Pike is a Cleric and not a Paladin? Pretty sure no one has said that yet. 🤣 🤣
Hate to be That Guy, but Pike’s a War Cleric. Very easy to confuse them with Paladins.
5:30 I would like to mention that Percy was only able to pull of that shot because there was a natrual 20 involved lol
I finished watching yesterday
Easily one of the best shows of 2022!! If you haven't seen it already, you need to watch this show immediately!
I already look forward season 2
Like many fans I'm hoping S2 has the fight that has one of Grog's best combat moments simply known for being one of the awesome Nat 20 moment a Nat 20 moment that has what is one of the best battle-cries ever "FOR STRONGJAW!!!!"
@@derrickhaggard CAN'T WAIT THEN
Pike= cleric not paladin
Keyleth used daylight(3rd lvl spell) on the ghosts
Keyleth used the equivalent of sunburst on silas.
Also yes the boss battle was the shit.
Keyleth used sunbeam >.>
And they were more likely wraiths than ghosts.
Keyleth use Sun beam
It was Super Effective
Sylas fainted (DEAD)
Not even a mention of the Bar Fight in episode 1? I feel that's a spectacular way to introduce the characters.
Pike is a Cleric!
What is this awesomenessness??
The fights in this show were awesome.
Pike is a cleric btw not a paladin lol
The guards playing DnD was pretty funny.
Many has said it before in the comments, I’ll just add that Pike is a Cleric of the War Domain, explaining her ability to fight like a Boss!
I can't wait for Season 2.
you know sometime, i don't even care about the top 10. I just want to hear Rebecca be hype about something i like.
Are we EVER going to get a list for Season 2? Let alone an overall list of Vox Machina Beast Mode moments? I feel like for the latter, there’s one moment that will EASILY take #1.
Since, you know, it’s the “Avengers Assemble” moment of Campaign 1.
Sweet
Pike, as a paladin…Fucking RIP
Can you do a versus video between DC Prometheus and Marvel Taskmaster?
This is wild seeing TLoVM on watchmojo. Never thought this would happen 4y ago.
Pike is a Cleric not a Paladin.
