Stradella Bass Accordion: #12 "La Vie En Rose" Chords
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2017
- In this video, I use the Five-Finger Stradella-Bass system that was developed by the late jazz musician Clarence Edgar Roberts (1906-1983).
ERROR ALERT: At 12:38, I should have said "G" bass with the C7 chord button" (NOT "D" bass).
“La Vie En Rose” CHORDS (as played in this video)
INTRO
| G7/B | C . C#o7 . | Dm7 | . | G7 |
VERSE
| C . A7 . | Dm7 . G7 . | C . Gm . | A7 | Dm7 | G7 |
CHORUS Part A:
| C | C/B | C/A . C/E Co7/Eb | Dm7 . G7 . | Dm . Dm/C# . | Dm/C . G7/B . | Dm7 . G7 . | C C#o7 Dm7 G7 |
CHORUS Part B:
| C | C/B | C/A . C7/G . | F | Dm7 . Dm7o5 . | C . C/B . | Ebo7 | Dm7 . G7 . | C | C/B . C/A . | Dm7 . G7 . | C |
ENDING
| G7/B | C . C#o7 . | Dm7 | . | Dm7o5 | C |
Chord Notation Note (as shown above):
The “point” (.) AFTER a bracketed chord, or chord group, indicates that the chord, or chord group should be repeated.
The “point” (.) WITHIN the bracket indicates that the chord should be held/played for another beat.
Chord Selection Note:
This selection of specific chords is used to (1) provide as much harmonic content as possible; (2) avoid monotonous repetition--especially of the chorus’s initial “C” Major chord and subsequent Dm chord; and (3) effect minimal "dead air space" between chords.
Melody Note:
As this video focuses specifically on "the chords of the left hand," I play only a very simple melody with the right hand.
Chord Deviation Note: In the FOURTH measure of "CHORUS Part B," the Dm7 is ordinarily held for FOUR beats. I do NOT hold that chord as such; rather, I play Dm7 for TWO beats, then Dm7.o5 for TWO beats. I find that this variation provides just a touch of sweetness, a brief break from the ordinary.
Format: Desired chord = bass/counter-bass (finger) + chord button (finger)
Co7 = Eb counter-bass (pinkie) + Ao7 (thumb)
C#o7 = C# counter-bass (index) + Eo7 (thumb)
Dm7 = D bass (pointer) + FM (pinkie)
Dm7.o5 = D bass (pointer) + Fm (pinkie)
A7 = A counter-bass (pinkie) + Eo7 (thumb)
G7 = G counter-bass (pinkie) + Do7 (thumb)
Love you videos , thank you,
Muchas gracias!!! Excelente profesor
I must be having trouble with my hearing I thought you said you wasn’t very good. I wish I could play like you you’re great 👍🇬🇧
яузааа ! я первый ! спасибо за джэз аккорды ! приступаю к практике -теория уже в пальце .
You're welcome! After having used this fingering for a fair amount of time, you will find it to be easy and convenient. Good luck!
@@scalephrase good evening ! now i have really prolonged life on rose . yes - jazz accords here have more requirement for playing just the same played earlier melody -ha ! funny stuff ! isnt it ?
ваша игра на уровне . надеюсь у вас есть слушатели не только он-лайн .
Thank you so much scalephrase. You play this song so beautifully with such rich chords. Do you have a video of you playing it right the way through start to finish?
This is my only "La Vie" video. I am NOT a performer; I'm mostly concerned with "theory." Yes, some days I can play well; but most days, I can't play to save my life. If you practice this song--with the chords that I recommend--you will surely be able to play it better than I could. Also, I've waited YEARS to hear someone play one of my original songs, but that hasn't happened yet. I guess I'm just not a very good songwriter. Oh well.
You are a amazing teacher. Thumbs up !
