If you're serious about an overland trip PLEASE consider the Rubicon Trail. I grew up within spitting distance and learned how to drive in a Toyota Land Cruiser in that area. I'm really surprised that it's not a top attraction for SXSs.
On my pro r ultimate LE i have a one switch for the mb whips but for my pro r premium i have r1 industries whips and they come with a wireless controller to turn on and off with any color you want and a app. I might go back to r1 whips later. The cars look good cant go without rugged gear its a must. You should think about going business band aswell with rugged r1 walkies.
When you get that new expedition, you should make it street legal and ride it on the road if you can do that on your state.
