Distress Spritz Embossing Resist

- Hey Makers!
Today I am sharing a short tutorial on making a background with Distress Spritz using a clear embossing resist. If you have followed me for any time you know this is one of my favorite techniques and it works so beautifully with Distress Spritz.
Now although my background is patriotic for a home decor project I'm making, you can use this same technique with any background stamp and any colors of Distress Inks and Distress Spritz. The colors and subject shouldn't matter when you are learning a technique. Let your imagination loose as you watch and get inspired to put your inks and background stamps to work with Distress Spritz and embossing powder!
Thank you so much for watching. I appreciated you!
Tami

I love how these turned out! Jennifer’s iron-off resist technique is also a favorite of mine so I appreciate the reminder. I’m glad you showed a comparison of using sprays and ink blending for this technique because there is quite a difference. I hope you will post the project when it is finished. I know it will be amazing!
@@kykategray thank you Katie! I was surprised at the difference too! I love that it gives me options bc I think I’m definitely using sprays for Halloween. 😄

Yes! Thank you for explaining distress spritz is a 'finishing spray' not a background spray. Beautiful project! The shimmer is real!
@@deanaredd368 thanks Deana! I was hoping that difference came across. That shimmer is so good isn’t it?!
Great video!! Thanks!

@@marcialanger7244 thanks Marcia! Patriotic music was surprisingly difficult to find on my music licensing app so you’ll probably be hearing it again. 😁
This is so beautiful….I love anything patriotic…we have been a military family since WW II in our family that we know of.
Including my son who was a USMC for 26 yrs.
Did you see the eagle die cut that Honeybee brought out ? It is stunning ….now I have to get this background stamp as I have an idea for my son’s desk 😊
@@pathamm5834 yes I saw that. I got a few other stamps with coordinating die cuts but didn’t get the eagle at the time. I saw a card made with it last week though and decided I probably should get it. 😊 Thanks to your son for his service.

I tried to resist the spritz, but alas, they have been ordered and should arrive soon. lol. Seriously, I know what I want to use them for and I’m excited for them to arrive, but I was just wondering why you chose these with coordinating inks rather than using the mica sprays? I’m not judging, just curious about your creative process and why/when you would choose one type over the other? I really love the way the backgrounds turned out. Honeybee is one of my favorite companies.
@@barbborja1910 hahaha. It’s futile to resist! 😁 Have fun when they come in.
That’s a good question. I chose Spritz, inks, and Stains because they are in the Distress palette.
While I enjoy the mica stains, I’m just more comfortable working in Distress colors. I know them. My brain thinks in Distress colors. It’s probably why I don’t have any other brands of inks, paints, or markers.
But to your point, Mica Stains would do the same as the mix of Spray Stain and Spritz, you’d get the more Distressed look. Which is cool.
