My husband and I traveled throughout the US, first he was a truck driver and then 3 years ago we got a rv and drove throughout the southwest to Washington State. I’d love to travel Europe like this one day. Having a home that you can drive where you want is so much fun. Your bus is incredible!

holy crap that is a good deal. i paid [ paying] that for my house and it's only moved about inches in 20 years.and that's not a good thing. lol. you can go any place and still be home.the cost of an RV that size new is like , a million. and they are made of plastic and paper. and they depreciate by half as soon as you sign the check. working hard is it's own best pay off. if some call you rich, then i say congratulations. kids today need to see more people like yourself. "rich" can be at any income bracket. but it is better earned.
Whoever said this was easy, was an idiot. In your build video you displayed amazing craftsmanship and engineering skills. It's obvious your skill must come from your profession. For 80.000 this was phenomenal. Considering the engine and kitchen extras you could have done it for around 55.000€ which is crazy for a 4 star hotel on wheels.
Amazing, half way through that video when you were running over the 'comments' I was thinking what the poetry said at the end........its interesting for people wanting to follow suit to see how much they may be able to do a conversion for, but calling you rich is such a silly statement regarding money. You have a beautifully built 'hotel quality' motorhome, you can go wherever you wish in the world, you have a loving family around you, and lots of great friends..........'Rich' doesn't come in money form.......its comes in the form of happiness.........you've done a great job, thanks for sharing :-)
Everything is free, even money is free because we go out of this life on empty pockets. The only thing that costs a fortune is when you spent your life unhappy, without love and with no imagination. You people have it all. Thanks so much for the video and your wonderful experience.
I don't understand people's obsession about the costs. How about what it provides: I'd rather KNOW the pleasure, enjoyment and fulfillment feeling it provides, especially after so much hard work. Awesome job mate, enjoy!
I would say that sounds like great value for the size and how well the quality turned out to be. And now the reliability should be quite good as well for years to come.
I have been keeping up with your project! It is amazing! I live in Virginia (USA). My brother and I own a 37' Bounder rear-engine pusher with two slide outs. I personally own a 50' motor vessel. So I love the land and water. You poem touched me enough to write it down. I hope you'll allow me permission to recite it to friends/family as it not only pertains to camping but boating as well. Thank you and all the best and happy travels. BTW - You need to ship her to the USA and tour America!
I love water too. I once owned a boat, a genuine Bayliner, and it might even become a new project of mine. Nice you like my poem - no need for my permission! 😊 Thank you. Touring America doesn't fit into our lives. As it is today we are too much tied to this place to travel for longer periods..
Thank you for that wonderful tour. My dad's family emigrated to Canada from Amstelveen, and I think I am the only one who hasn't been back to visit :-( Someday...
That's nice. Maybe you are interested in seeing more footage of the Amstelveen-part then. It is here in my other channel: ua-cam.com/video/_mIGxuZSLUo/v-deo.html

An overall investment of ~80k Euro? That’s an amazing accomplishment for having a rolling villa! Bravo! It does certainly qualify as ‘rich’ regarding experiences, future fun, and opportunities. One question; what is the MPG or Liters per 100 km? The continued maintenance may also be an interesting topic - everything that moves usually shakes a couple of things loose. You’re clearly a very talented builder - I wonder how busy the bus will keep you. Thank you for sharing your rolling home!
Look at all the luxury buses they are showing here on youtube. They cost millions and most of them are not that cosy. And i bet some don't even have the build quality.

He paid 400 euros for tv's internet and soundbar. I live also in holland. Just one small tv cost about 500 euros, he have few , dual band router cost minimum100 euros, soundar, cheapest one about 200 euros. So just in that one place is mistake about 1,5k euros. Also painting one element at car cost about 350 euros, whole car is about 2500-3000 euros, and he says it was 5000. No way. Watching his movies from building process and this list, i can easly says that 50k for bus is acceptable, but conversion cost was not 30 but 60-80k. Holland isnt cheap. Fucking 5m cable cost 20 euros where here is hundreds of them.

80K€ for everything was well worth it u have a complete home on wheels that engine costing 20k was a bummer tho Assuming the engine was fine, it would cost 60K€ if I had the money to do it I would, im very young maybe in the future from a great inspiration video. I advise you to do like other people said and installing solar, it can be expensive but then u can go completly offgrid. Also talking about on the topic of eletric you said the batterys hold for 5 days but how much time to charge ?
Soo cool! I'd get me one of those! :) -three things: 1- you can use reflection and lights to be able to have a window from your room and have privacy also . And, shorten the blinds, so you can use them in sections...(to me the view is super important!!! at all times, not just during daytime).. 2- Why gas??? use electric! and inductions stove and oven... 3- I'd add 4 cameras with sensors so you can have a complete cover of the outside (but then, the NetherLands are super secure, so no need to.....)
When you say you got a new licence, does that mean you changed the vehicles classification with the dept of motor vehicles, from lots of passengers to RV? or did you have to upgrade your driving licence to a commercial licence owing to the size of the vehicle? Fantastic build, well done.
Yes, it is all about the licence of the vehicle. Not to an RV, but from lots of passengers to less passengers. 😊 It is still a bus, but it went from a total of 90 persons to 11 (=number of seats). Everything above 9 is a bus over here. There is no such thing as a 'commercial licence'. If you have, like me, a bus drivers licence, you can drive it. If you would take 2 seats out (and re-register), it would become a truck, and you would need that licence. Oh and THEN you could even choose to make it into an RV. Thank you! Regards from the Netherlands!
Your skills and ingenuity mean the financial outlay was €80000 ! To buy this off the shelf is not possible, but could cost Ten times that amount. And it would still be good value. Congratulations for creating such a wonderfully versatile vehicle. I hope you, your family and friends are able to enjoy it for many many years to come. Great videos. Seems like a reasonable price for such a project. Added to all that you live in a beautiful country even though it’s small. I often visit in my motorhome and I find most Dutch people, especially people who enjoy camping and travelling to be very friendly. Keep well and travel safely.
Not even that expensive honestly, if anyone with a decent job saved for a bit they could do it. People are just stupid... i could see myself doing this in a few years easily...
Indeed, if you don't over-consume (who needs a new smartphone every 2 years that costs a thousand or more in some cases?) and put money aside (invest it gainfully at best!)? Yeah, you can do something like that (especially if you don't have kids and other expensive hobbies!)
As a Britain working for the Dutch national airline - this is a staggering project you have totally nailed. Everything automotive related in Holland is at least 30% more expensive in Holland than the UK. Every single part of your project is spot on, (including your English) Were it not for the incredibly bad luck of needing a whole new engine this is actually remarkably good value for money considering that even a VW camper van is 80k plus new. I salute you sir with jealous eyes!

That's not that bad at all. Especially if you wouldn't happen to have bad luck with the engine. Considering how much new bigger RV's cost here in Europe. My husband and I traveled throughout the US, first he was a truck driver and then 3 years ago we got a rv and drove throughout the southwest to Washington State. I’d love to travel Europe like this one day. Having a home that you can drive where you want is so much fun. Your bus is incredible!
Thank you. Regards from the Netherlands!
Well done! You have just proven customizing an older cost effective model vs buying a new model is the way to go
Freedom has no price. I really like the style in which you made the interior. Good job!
Outstanding work! Thanks for the cost breakdown, very interesting. That price is actually pretty good when compared to new motorhomes. 👍👍
The price is VERY good - even with all the cost of the labor he did himself. Great job.
Amen! Thank you for pointing out that hard work, saving & sacrificing got you there! Enjoy yourself & your family!
Excellent! And as an ex-driver of such vehicles, I envy you, it was a dream of mine to convert a coach and tour 👍
I like how he went though each factor
WOW, here in the USA, that kind of RV would cost hundreds of thousands of $$. So, you did Great in my opinion. One part of the equation that people don't put a value to is the fact that you were the one making sure that the work was done correctly. So, great job and an enthusiastic thumbs up!!
You have made a fantastic job of your Bus! Now it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labours. Pay no heed to the ignorant comments made about your personal wealth (or lack of it now the bus is finished!). Like everyone else you have the freedom to do whatever you want with your money. Enjoy your wonderful home on wheels! Looking forward to the travels of 2020.
Regardless of cost that is beautiful and just how you like it, hard work to set up but now you are free to enjoy. Well done
Thank you for sharing this with us. It’s brilliant and I think for what you have achieved with your bus is most excellent. Please continue to enjoy and maybe share the odd video with us
So much dedication to do such project! Well deserved, enjoy every second of it!
holy crap that is a good deal. i paid [ paying] that for my house and it's only moved about inches in 20 years.and that's not a good thing. lol. you can go any place and still be home.the cost of an RV that size new is like , a million. and they are made of plastic and paper. and they depreciate by half as soon as you sign the check. working hard is it's own best pay off. if some call you rich, then i say congratulations. kids today need to see more people like yourself.
You are rich! The wealth of knowledge you have, a happy family, a project you can be proud of. Not much more one can ask for!
This is something I do underline it without any daubt.
The finished bus is beautiful, modern looking and a wonderful gift to yourself. Enjoy!
you know I'm a big fan of you, nothing to say just love it
Everything is free, even money is free because we go out of this life on empty pockets. The only thing that costs a fortune is when you spent your life unhappy, without love and with no imagination. You people have it all. Thanks so much for the video and your wonderful experience.
That was actually a lot less than I would have expected.
Great video, you didn't owe the explanation to anyone, yet you were so transparent. I loved it, well done and great job, it's beautiful 👏 👏 👏
Wonderful as always. Thank you for another Quality video Onrust
Less then expected, but still a nice chunk of change, but you knowing where everything is if it break is PRICELESS.
You're welcome. I'll pass it on to Alexey from Ukraine, who does all the translating into Russian for me.
Its one of the nicest coaches I've ever seen. Incredibly well thought out. I've owned several Prevost conversions.
Super bus heb je zeg! Heel knap gedaan!
Thank you for sharing the total cost . It is a blessing to be able to work & to be able to put together the Coach of your dreams, even better than that to be able to enjoy it with your loved ones, your family, your true richness . God Nless🙏
The ending was really Artistic, quality
Good for you and your family, you have a amazing bus! Thanks for sharing. The wife and I called a 40 foot diesel Motorhome, home sweet home from October 2002 to October 2018 here in America.
Please read the FAQ: sites.google.com/site/bigbuszz/faq---english
Annual maintenance fluctuates but 1000 is quite normal. Thank you.
Look at all the luxury buses they are showing here on youtube. They cost millions and most of them are not that cosy. And i bet some don't even have the build quality.
AWESOME ....... we have a small caravan but we don’t smoke drink gamble watch tv so we enjoy our hard work like you. Well done excellent video you show us the joy of living
The beginning freaked me out so much haha watching in the dark on low volume hearing the whisper.
It shows character and humor, and then the poem at the end ... a very enjoyable video from beginning to end.
Thank you so much for inspiring on many levels!
You have done a Beautiful job on your bus! Pay no attention to any nay sayers. My husband and I RV’ed for several years, and our last motorhome cost over $200,000 and was 40 feet long. I know what you mean about picking your campsite carefully. Wewe also towed our Jeep Cherokee behind us, making us even longer. He passed away 5 years ago and I still miss him, and traveling together very much. I’m sure you know what a bargain you have. Hope you enjoy it and life for many, many years to come.
€80,400 what a bargain, considering the bus cost about 50000
@NPC #34254334 Response: Hahaha😂😂😂
Read twice write once....
But I love the double decker concept, it's amazing to have even for a small family... ➡
@@artlew6547 I get your point, but that's what he said... we have to take his word for it, he could have gotten most of the items second hand which is cheaper 💯
@@laserworkstv I will say nothing if he will be true. In another commentary section I discussed with him and told him that it isn't a crime to have money as far you didn't stole it if he have some parts second hand there is also no shame in that! Just simply be real or avoid topic. I don't understand why people touch money topic when they are sensitive about it.
@@artlew6547 well said, it is what it is....
For $125,000 Canadian I would love to have this in a heartbeat. I see some of the other buses you show that the owners really take pride in their bus homes love it. You did an awesome job and the end results is just Spectacular !!! all the best to you and your family. Happy Trails !! to you. Cheers!
Thank you! Regards to Canada from the Netherlands!
Sentimental attachment aside, What is the value of the RV compared to cost... Especially with it all custom to your needs it is all worth it....
All that super hard work is so worth it....look at the magnificent result....now with Covid 19 on this planet I think you are even positioned better than you ever could...you can go on holidays and not worry about the person sitting next to you on a bus or airplane infecting you....you really have worked so so hard and I hope you truly enjoy the fruits of your labour, I love your work and how you decorated the bus....so so worth it. CONGRATULATIONS & ENJOY.
That is one serous machine for $90k. A basic motorhome in the US will cost that (cheapest) and not near the quality of the bus. You did a great job on that one my friend! ATB and Happy Travel!
Exellent work! Fantastic build and, a wonderful poem at the end that says what rv-life really means! Congratulations.
Man that music at 2:19 reminded me of tom and jerry. Aah! Good old days
It made me think of docter who
Sweet Ride, worth every penny to go and enjoy the weather when you can get the time! OH! the memories.
80K€ for everything was well worth it u have a complete home on wheels
that engine costing 20k was a bummer tho
Assuming the engine was fine, it would cost 60K€ if I had the money to do it I would, im very young maybe in the future from a great inspiration video.
I advise you to do like other people said and installing solar, it can be expensive but then u can go completly offgrid.
Also talking about on the topic of eletric you said the batterys hold for 5 days but how much time to charge ?
Thank you for your comment. The batteries will take a few hours to charge. I'm not sure how many exactly because I never measured..
You really deserve what you achieved! Great Job and truly inspiring!
Thats not bad for the great traveling home you now have congrats !!!!!
A bargain at half the price. So much work you have done. Hats off to you!
over all that was a brilliant price . and most importantly , it was done to your specs .
Massive respect for your achievements with this project. 🙏
WHAT!!! New engine costs more than the bus?!!!!
It's not even new, it has been overhauled.
@@forkless Probably x-ray'd. decked, honed, new pistons, rods, rings, gaskets, various plugs, pumps, belts, gears and all balanced. Basically a new engine and likely with a similar warranty.
Thank you for doing this. I got sick of people asking all about money. I'm happy to know it's doable for anyone and your work is great
Tell Ava I said hi from the Netherlands! 😊
Great Job! If it wasn’t for the engine, it could have been less but you guys were all in. And now you can live life the way you want to. Enjoy
Love the name of that town "winkel"
Is that where Rip is from? Rip Van Winkel?
As a Britain working for the Dutch national airline - this is a staggering project you have totally nailed. Everything automotive related in Holland is at least 30% more expensive in Holland than the UK. Every single part of your project is spot on, (including your English) Were it not for the incredibly bad luck of needing a whole new engine this is actually remarkably good value for money considering that even a VW camper van is 80k plus new. I salute you sir with jealous eyes!
Thank you, thank you. Funny fact: my fellow Dutchmen laugh at me because of my Dutch accent when talking English. I never get remarks about my English from anywhere else in the world... What is it with those *(&^*( Dutch? 😆 Thanks for the compliments on different levels.. 😊 I hope you keep your job working for this company in these uncertain times. 😊👍
@@Onrust1 Kind reply! I'm proud to be blue! I speak fluent Dutch now and am embarking on my first van conversion into a camper... Hence why I found your video but suffice to say if its half the build you managed I'll be chuffed!!
Good luck with the conversion!
(Do you live nearby HQ? Because I do.)
@@Onrust1 I still love in the UK and commute but I have another house in Hoofddorp :)
That sounds good. We live in Amstelveen.
You should be very proud of this project. One of the advantages of doing this all yourself is that you know every square inch of your mobile home, and you will never have to worry about it breaking down if you know your way around it. For sure, if you ever sell it, you will not lose on it.
Thank you. About that last statement: I'm not convinced about that, as I had it quite some time for sale..
Génial, j'adore.Merci pour ce partage de qualité. Amazing, I love,Thank's for this quality share. Jérôme from south of France
Sehr schön ,sehr ehrlich und sehr unterhaltsam .Ich wünsche Euch und Euren Kindern laaaaaange Freude an dem schönem Bus , äh RV.
Greetings from Russia, St. Petersburg! I watch your videos with great interest! I have great respect for your hobbies. Thanks for the Russian captions!
Thank you, Serge. Regards back from the Netherlands! Your thanks for the captions I will pass on to Alexey from the Ukraine, who volunteered to translate.
Well done! Pride in your completed coach is priceless as well as the experiences with your wife. 😊
So suprised at the whole cost. I expected something that doubles what you have said. Thank you! Enjoy🥰

Absolutely love this...the way you explained/pondered on your wealth...brilliant......I must admit that I was just as curious as everyone else regarding the cost, but I feel I have now been further educated as well as thankful for the reveal.
I also totally like your accent in the use of the Australian language :)
Thank you!
But Australian? Really? I'm not aware of that.. at all.. 😊
Must be some weird mix of this Dutchie doing his best at English.. 😁
In AUD that works out at about $130k - pretty good value considering I paid $125k for an old Greyhound bus converted - had the same sort of fit-out as yours, not quite as good as your but that was 2005. Wonderful time, easy to drive, had trailer with 4WD on it 26tonnes all up. Enjoy it, you worked hard for it, it will last the rest of your lifetime. About 4-5 kms to litre
I like the poetic part.
I hope you give us more videos about your tours with beautiful sceneries.
its like we're having a tour on your beautiful country as well 😍

First I love your videos. It's doesn't matter what you spend on your bus as long as you enjoy it. Bravo I want one too.

Unbelievable, that for sure its a monumental project to keep a man entertained! Bravo!
Great project, great video and awesome conclusion!
Heey thank you so much for revealing the costs! 🙏 since i saw yor bus the first time i inew that‘s how i want to life. since can work everywhere aslong as i have a computer and an internet connection this is perfect for me. Thanks to your list i made a plan for myself how to safe the money and when to invest my time into this project. my goal became possible and reachable. thanks for that and the inspiration!
That's not that bad at all. Especially if you wouldn't happen to have bad luck with the engine. Considering how much new bigger RV's cost here in Europe. I'd most definitely have something like that compared to new RV. Of course there's tons of work involved. But overall, good job. I'm not an RV guy, but really enjoyed to watch these few episodes.
You are really an exceptional man, I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart. Greetings from Baghdad.
Before my wife died , she thought me mad that I'd pick up shells , rocks or even wave beaten broken beer bottle made smooth on our walks along the beach or on hikes . She'd say I was a magpie bird , in a different life . Then she left me . Got breast cancer , and once she asked if I could drive her to hospital . She opened the ash tray and found the shells , rocks and bottles made smooth from the waves . And I could tell her the story of the day from each one , she would hold one up and ask . She was surprised I could remember the clothes she was wearing . I don't care of the price of your bus , to watch the adventures of you on the bus , in life , as long as you really live . 😀 is for me . Just be fake be real . And I'll be happy .
