For me, the winner is Azerbaijan.. That song is really great.. Russia and Croatia are also very good, although Croatia didn't qualify into the finals.. And if I was asked, I wouldn't let Israel and Norway go to the finals... For Israel nothing about this whole situation with Palestine, it's just beacuse her voice is too high, and it really hurts to listen to, and Norway's song is just boring.. Good luck Azerbaijan 💪🏽❤️
Belgium and Ukraine were by far my 2 favourites of the semi and they just HAD to announce them last lmao
The same thing happened to me but Australia was my winner of the semi, meaning I have my top 3 with just two spots left. At least the two spots went to entries of my top but still they had to be announced last xd
Total same. I love Australia as well but I had accepted the fact that they were not qualifying since the moment I learned that they were not going to Rotterdam.
same happened to me. belgium and ukraine are my top 2 (respectively) by far as well. who decided to reveal order knows how to have me a heart-attack. still it was silly that they had ukraine to announce last because it was pretty obvious imo. glad that belgium made it.
and if they put belgium on 2nd spot in grand final i will never eat stroopwafel again.
I feel you, it was the same for me. I had an heart-attack and was so relieved when they announced Belgium 9th because Ukraine was considered a safe qualifier.

1. Ukraine (Super Staging, this one grew on me a lot)
2. Cyprus (Good song, good staging, beautiful woman)
3. Israel (Another grewer, the last part of the performance was amazing)
4. Lithuania (again, very good song, the staging was exactly what I expected, good!)
5. Romania (Sad it didn't qualify but I see the reasons for it, I like it anyway)
6. Azerbaijan (the song is good, but the stage was way too big for her)
7. Croatia (I just like the song, the staging was a bit messy but it deserved to qualify either way)
8. Australia (She didn't stand a chance cause it was not live from Ahoy, good song though)
9. Ireland (I like the song and the staging was very impressive, but her vocals were terrible)
10. Russia (This one grows on me, I start to like it)

Its getting tiring because by now I have seen it compared to songs by Lady Gaga, Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and the list goes on... Do people really don't know that all pop music is derivative, especially when the same producers/songwriters are involved? What matters to me is that she owns it and the performance is great. Plus the undertones of singing about a toxic relationship and the sudden tempo changes are a great twist on a familiar formula.

@@markdamaniac6041 For me it is a problem when songwriters uses the same chords, chord progression and rythm...that makes this song to similar to Bad Romance. The use of F. G and Am (chords and progression is the same) and the rythm is the same. Copy and paste song like El Diablo is not for me, sorry. I like some orginality. Third time in a row Cyprus send the same "shit"; with that I mean same type of song. performed by a good looking female with sexy clothes (2018, 2019, 2021). Cuprys knows that will get them the votes for the final (same as Sweden have done for years).
@@Meg-ld7vt I'm not arguing that they are relying on the same formula to do well in the competition because they do. I also value originality which is why my winner is Italy. That being said, I still disagree with the word copy being used so loosely, and trashing a perfectly good performer because her song has a vaguely similar sonic structure to a few other popular songs. I also refuse to devalue Elena's efforts just because Eleni and Tamta came before her. We can sit here and analyze the chord progression, but at the end of the day, people will still have different perceptions and value different things about each performance, so its ultimately pointless. That is what shapes our different opinions, so lets just respectfully disagree.

Normally someone who has a lot of inner beauty and some external beauty". I don't understand that people don't get that this song is about mental health issues. THE STAGING AND THE LYRICS SHOULD GIVE PEOPLE A CLUE, BUT PEOPLE ARE BLINDED BY THE ANGEL WINGS AND DON'T GET THAT THE SONG HAS A DEEPER MEANING.

🇱🇹 here! I personally couldnt stand Romania, I do not see the Billie eilish resemblance people are talking about either? It just annoyed me, the vocals were painful. I was so shocked to see people had them so high on their favourites, also I agree with the cheap lady gaga impersonation for Cyprus, it was my first thought. This semi-final my favourite was definitely Russia, I really hope it does well in the final! My personal top 3 overall are Italy, Russia, and Finland, in that order at the moment, but good luck to all :)
tbf it was a very off performance for Roxen. I've heard her perform her 2020 entry "Alcohol You" with on point vocals. She must have let her nerves get to her. But yeah, I also don't get the Billie Eilish comparisons. I think Bulgaria's singer is a lot more like Billie in how her voice sounds and the style of music in both last year and this years song.

I am honestly overall happy with the result of yesterday. All of the entries were hella good, and most of them probably barely passed.
I have to agree with you quite a lot. I ma from Croatia and, of course, wanted Albina to go to the finals, but honestly there was smt missing last night and she was out of tune at the begining. I am glad i am not the only one who thinks Cyprus is overrated, all of my friends who heard it for the first time last night, said it was just a cheap copy of Lady Gaga. It seems like another Tamata as well. I agree with you about Sweden, it was out of tune, i dont say he's a bad singer, but maybe he was nervous or smt, it didnt sound very well. Yess, i have same opinion for Croatia
I have to say two things.
I. It is pity that Albina and Roxen did not qualify for the final. What a shame. There were many countries that qualified to the finals, but their songs weren't better than Amnesia or Tick Tock.
II. I understand and agree that everyone has their own opinion and it is good and I can not change it, but the way you express your opinion is so rude as you said for someone of them "they didn't deserve to qualify" or "glad they didn't qualify". Have you ever been to Eurovision and do you know what it means to be there and sing in front of the WHOLE world?
Sorry, but you can not express your opinion so rudely and unkindly as if you do not respect them.

when it comes to amnesia i think the biggest factor is she was really anxious and out of breath while singing. off the note sometimes. otherwise it would qualify and be in top10.

To me it positively resonates that Maltese singer is only 18 years old and she vocally nails it, no matter the size of the stage. Maneskin vocalist is also only 22 but his rehearsals are spotless. Thats professionalism. I think there is really not much excuse to be out of tune in a SONG contest. This unfortunately not a pity contest. Roxen will improve her vocals and maybe one day will come back and win it all.

Why do you have to compare “El Diablo” to Lady Gaga all the time? Sure, the melody in the chorus is Gaga-like but would you expect anything else when several of the producers of this song also worked with Lady Gaga? The staging is very innovative and different; it is modern and slick. Would you rather want a picture of the devil in the background and them dancing around to that? I totally respect your opinion but this argument annoys me so much. The only thing people can say is that it is a Fuego 2.0 and a copy of Lady Gaga. It will never be a Fuego 2.0
because “Fuego” will always be a one time iconic entry from Cyprus.
This is about the whole package - the staging, the choreo, the attitude and of course the vocals. I also have to be honest and say that yesterday wasn’t Elena’s best vocal performance but she was still so captivating and sensual in her movements that the overall package made it a great performance.
