Isn't cypher a staple pick on this map because he can solo hold b with someone mid incase they slam b site. His annoying setups on defence both on a and b is hard to counter unless u have raze sova wonder why pro players don't use him. He can be a great substitute to info initiators
once cypher's setup is destroyed, he can't really hold a site effectively specially if the enemies are diving and they are coordinated enough that teams can easily bait the cypher. i think pro teams value more the info denial and stalling capabilities of controllers. let's wait and see what FNC and TL will do having a great sentinel player on their team.
Ranked and competitive are 2 very different things
@Apple-vi3bz In the very same video that is linked at the end of this one you see Cypher doing exactly that in split so yes, that's a possible strategy. Teets himself repeated again and again that not having an info sentinel was probably a bad call throughout this video.
Don't dismiss reasonable opinions with just "this isn't soloq" man
Yeah pro teams are better at playing around trips and breaking them. Pro teams are also better at playing with the info that someone's there to break trips in the first place, also Cypher is really good at setting up deep into the site and has a couple unbreakable setups for B Sunset so that the offense has to commit to get to them at which point you can safely play for retake without needing to get anyone exposed to get the info. Maybe it won't be the definitive meta but bit there's good arguments for him to be a good pick

honestly I'm just happy that breach isn't considered a terrible agent anymore and is actually really good for maps like Sunset
(I have no idea if breach ever was considered bad or F tier but it's the general idea i got playing since beta)

With cypher u can controll the whole map both on defense and offense.
The overpowered, unbreakable trap on B main is just a menance for attackers
