Thanks! Glad I could add something new. One thing I realized I didn’t include was that the camera is not as rugged as some other travel cameras I’ve used in the past. But the image quality blew me away!
Yea! The one thing I should have mentioned is that it’s not quite as rugged as say an interchangeable lens camera could be. Other than that, I’m actually amazed at the image quality out of this thing!
Need to purchase mine before my June holiday. The IPhone 14 Pkus and Gimbal was going to be my regular camera but I hate the logistical messing of removing my phone from its case and then to a gimbal. Always worried it’s going to smash at some point. I’ve watched so many videos and it’s a no brainer
@@mindful_wander try your best to get some 4K/2K videos on the channel, and better lighting. You have the face and the voice for this and you kept it really short. I’ve been looking for this type of video showcasing our camera’s power while traveling. I got one last week to take to Lapland with me! Cant wait to edit those shots
I just got the OP3 recently but not had a chance to go anywhere interesting with it yet due to work or weather. I'm hoping to get better footage for my channel than using my phone which is a lot more limited
I literally wanted for all the exact same things you brought up in this video. I’m still stuck between this and the insta 360 x3… just wish the pocket was waterproof since I like to hike but the quality on it looks too clean!
Right on. I did have the Insta360 X3 and sold it this year. It was pretty cool and it’s nice having a 360 camera at your disposal but one thing that I didn’t realize before getting it is that it does add a little bit to your workflow. For example, you have larger files, because of the 360 footage and then you have to go through the process of reframing all of the footage. The Insta 360 app makes it super convenient, relatively speaking, but it is still time consuming. I also thought that the POV from a 360 camera is really cool, IF you can extend the camera far away enough from your body, which sometimes was not possible or just called a lot of attention to yourself. If those aren’t issues for you, 360 footage can be fun and unique.
Like you, I hesitated between x3 and the pocket 3. But I went for the X3 for hikes in the UK where it rains a lot. I also love the crazy angles I can get when I mount it or on my motorcycle. I’ve tested a couple of motionlapses with it also… I agree that the extra step of reframing the shots afterwards could be a bit tedious… but it’s actually smthg I really enjoy: when you’re out and about you don’t need to worry as much about where your camera is pointed. They’re 2 different tools… I really enjoyed my pocket 1, hence why I almost pulled the trigger on the 3, but I’m having sooo much fun with the x3. Note: you need quite a few accessories to mount it in different places though: car, bike, helmet, backpack, pole, tripod… invest in a reliable quick release system.
Mettez une perche celle de insta 360, 3 mètres, fonctionne très bien plus de haut et bas en marchant, et mettre son smartphone en bas voir les images c'est le top pour un dféplacement à pied sur la distance.
I am so on the fence about the pocket 3 because of one reason: it’s ability in variable weather. I shoot in state and national parks, and I run and gun on the spot to showcase those parks and certain difficult hiking/backpacking trails. Weather conditions, though planned and watched, can change substantially. Will the pocket 3 with the new DJI 2 mic kit work for me and my particular travel/needs and switch to the iPhone 15 pro when it might be too wet and soggy for the tiny gimbal, or just keep using the iPhone as my main video shooter along side the DJI or ride wireless mics??? Thanks again for taking the time to do this. Very much appreciated.
Thanks for the comment Jarrad. This is a great question. Not sure if you settled on a solution yet but I think Personally, if high-quality walking shots in a compact and relatively inexpensive package is what you're looking for, you can go with the first option. This is what I do, too (though I have the iPhone 14 Pro). The reason (for me) is that the stabilized walking footage is wider and looks better on the DJI Pocket 3 compared to my iPhone. I'm not sure if the iPhone 15 allows active stabilization without cropping into the image. What's more, the 3-axis gimbal (on the DJI) is usually better and smoother-looking than digital stabilization (as seen on phones). However, you're right in that the Pocket 3 is a relatively delicate camera. Definitely not a reassuring, gritty travel partner like my old DSLRs were in the past, so you have to take extra care of it. But to be fair, phones (even though they are not pretty water resistant) are pretty delicate too, particularly the screens. And losing or dropping your phone means you lose so much more than just a camera. You basically can't live without a phone nowadays. So it's nice to have a dedicated photo/video tool. Oh, and the memory is expandable on a separate camera, which is such a seemingly small detail but feels so important when you're battling to clear up space on your phone's internal memory.
Nice video but how do so many "professional" vloggers still not know there are like a dozen different mini monitors that clip onto your iPhone that allow you to see yourself while shooting with the rear camera? I dont even vlog and I know this....any con you think of for the iPhone, I guarantee you there is an app or accessory for it that you dont know about. It's the most used camera in the world for a reason.
Wow, comin’ in hot. Also, who said they are a professional vlogger here? And what’s more, maybe we are aware but still get excited about this camera? Is this a problem to you? Are you bothered by such a thing in someone else’s life?
The only downside compared with an action camera, is that stabilisation whilst you are walking, isn't as good in the Pocket 3. Folks need to learn the 'Ninja Walk' in order to provide the 4th access of stabilisation and the snag with that, is that you immediately stick-out like a sore thumb.
I am in Michoacan, and I have been told not to bring out your camera in public,.. Many Criminal groups do not want you to take random pictures of the public.
I love my P3, in the studio it is almost as good as my Canon DSLR. Looking from a point where people are just watching and not judging. Just don't mirror the selfie image.. And let people watch you as you are, instead of what you as a filmer see in the mirror.
Yes, you can attach it to a normal tripod when you attach the extended grip (it has a thread on the bottom of it, which the camera by itself does not). The creator combo also comes with a mini tripod. There’s no Bluetooth control but you can use your smartphone and the DJI Mimo app. Works really well.
Hey hey! Thanks!! I'm not sure what the exact settings were but I do know that I had everything set to automatic: white balance, shutter speed, aperture (which is fixed at f/2 on this camera, I believe), and ISO.
Do you know if you can automatically tag location with Osmo pocket 3? For me is a deal breaker since I want to take advantage of the photos app to filter using places or the memories for some vacations. Of course I don’t want to tag one by one, it could be great if it uses my iPhone’s GPS.
If you give the app the correct permissions to always access your location, then it can uses the timestamp from the camera and the app to add the location. Insta360 do something like that but I think that you need to open the app and keep it opened or something like this.
@@tsandler3114 oh interesting. Honestly I haven't heard anything like that for the DJIOP3 but it's DJI so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they had a feature like that to make it easier to track you haha
