THIS is the very best fish store in the Sacramento area. Best employees, best selection, best quality fish! I recommend number 1. I've been in this city with this hobby for many years and this place is the best.

I work in a pet store with aquariums. We don't have this lot of aquariums, so we really have to choosen wisely the type of fish to bring to the store, and only fresh water fish. We pay close attention to what kind of aquariums most of our costumers have (yes, that including talking a little to everyone, giving best costumer service possible), and do our best to have suitable fish for those, both the common and popular ones and some more rare and interesting alternatives.
All our fish have a nice substrate at the bottom, and live plants. They're fed both flakes and frozen food and we have a weekly schedule for the staff so that all the aquariums get the maintenance they need. And if any fish needs meds and so, of course we have documents and routines to follow there as well and don't sell any fish until we're sure they're fine again.
Then, at all our aquariums, we have proper information about the fish. We don't just have the name and what it cost. We also have the latin name, the size the fish will become, something about it's behavior (for example: "friendly community fish"), what the fish needs in terms of temperature and size of aquarium... A bit like that. Then the costumers can take a look, read a little and get a clue about if the fish is suitable or not, even before they talk to us about buying it.

Right on!! Splash is another local favorite of mine 😊 So awesome to see them get some love! The staff is awesome and very helpful. They always have a great selection of fish, plants, tanks etc.

It’s so hard to pick a favorite fish store. Everytime I go into a different one I am greeted with kindness and any questions I have are always answered. Houston has so many to go to. Houston Aquarium Warehouse, Fishland, the fish bowl and more, infinite aquatics, limitless aquatics and many more I haven’t been to yet. Obviously, different stores have different selections when it comes to stone, wood, fish, substrates, chemicals, foods and filters. This community is absolutely amazing and I am so glad I found this hobby.
Started with a 1.5 gallon for a betta and moved to a 20 gallon for community, a 90 gallon for cichlid and a 10 gallon planted for the betta. I love it.
Watching you guys on UA-cam has done nothing but inspire me to do better and try harder to keep these guys happy and healthy.

I can't help but feeling like the red tailed catfish, the arowana and the zebra shark are not going to find appropriate homes unless a zoo picks them up... :'(

There are a lot of big outdoor pond keepers in the area. And the zebra shark will be donated to a proper home, not sold.
