    Cambodia’s re-opening is set to be done in phases with Sihanoukville and the Koh Kong Islands on the Gulf of Thailand being the first provinces to open. Travellers who wish to visit are required to present proof they have been fully vaccinated, have a valid PCR test and a pre-booked hotel confirmation. After a 5 day stays you will be allowed to travel freely in Cambodia.
    Siem Reap province is set to re-open as the second quarantine-free province on 1 of January 2022 as part of the program. Similarly, after 5-day stay travellers are free to continue and visit other destinations unrestricted throughout Cambodia.

    • @juliahaw
      @juliahaw  3 роки тому +1

      Oh wow. No. Please don't spend that type of money on rent. You'll find once you arrive you won't make that much money if you are working from there. Also, it doesn't make sense. You can live very well and find a place for max $250. I'd suggest something with WiFi, FULLY furnished with the kitchenware, and looking in Sala Kamreuk. Also, be mindful that air-con and electricity tend to be high in SR, and will add a good $30-50 to your rent if it's not included. xo Good luck!!!!

    Yeah It's costly for the air conditioning as you really need It on all night long and sometimes It's a little noisy unless It's of good quality, then you'll have the Gas , and bottled water costs and be aware the Chinese are buying a lot and pushing up prices and taking over lots of business and the locals are losing out because of this , so It won't be a good place too actually retire in the future as It will become expensive, right now you'd acutely need around a thousand US, dollars a month to live pretty comfortably as a foreigner that's eating out every day at a restaurant and socialising in the evening, if you are doubting my advice about the Chinese invasion just checkout what the locals are saying about kampong Som (Sihanoukville ) with the casinos and the violence on UA-cam just always better to be informed, nothing personal as the country and the Khmer people are wonderful and one of my favourite countries in the world 🌎 I would recommend It still to anyone who loves a sense of adventure, but please do your homework before listening to my thoughts as we are all individuals with different opinions , I lived there for 3 years and will definitely go back one day as my personal stay was a wonderful time 🙏

    • @juliahaw
      @juliahaw  4 роки тому +1

    • @wallstbets4865
      @wallstbets4865 4 роки тому +1

      @@juliahaw Yes cambodia utilities are expansive. You can find a good cheap house but the utilities are going to increase the price. When i rented a house for around 390$, when the utility bill came in it was an extra 200$. Using a washing machine and running the AC during hot humid days + the fridge.

      @@wallstbets4865 The problem is they are still building without insulation. So the brock walls and concrete floors all heat up during the day and need all night to cool down a bit. Well this comment is quite passive and impolite. If you mean my partner, his name is Blair and he's a very chill guy. He also prefers not to be on camera so much, so I respect that. He's an amazing person. Also, judging by the views on the video, I'm thankful many others have watched and enjoyed! Cheers!

    Loved the tour of all the available rentals… thank you. One comment tho… the camera work is so very choppy, chaotic, and frantic it’s like someone with ADHD is recording - To make better video try to calm down, breathe deeply, relax, and pan more slowly and steadily to allow the viewer to actually see something before jerking their attention to this thing, that thing, the next thing, the next thing, and oh that and this and well that too. Doing good hand-held video requires the camera person to at least try to be steady and organized. Perhaps you felt stressed and were just rushing about to find a place qui qui - and if so that really comes across loud and clear. Deep breaths help. Good luck in your new home.

      Thank you -- I've heard several comments like this. Perhaps I was VERY excited in this video. A few months ago I started using a tripod a lot more -- which reduces shaking than when I hold the camera only with my hand. I appreciate the feedback! I'll be back in cambodia later this year and look forward to making more content there!

      @@juliahaw - Thank YOU for sharing your experience actually. I was hesitant to say anything bcoz I was sure I would sound rude and I hope you know I was not trying to be so. I appreciate all the info that ppl share about their experiences in travel - especially in SE Asia. My own plans to go to Java and other islands in Indonesia have been ‘on hold’ since the pandemic began… My Indonesian partner and I are separated by 12 time zones but we press on via several hours of Skype twice each day. I’ve been reading lately that Cambodia is quite the desirable destination for English-speaking travelers. If only the pandemic would wind down we could all dust off our passports and get in line again. Be well.

      @@noahjuanjuneau9598 Oh wow. I thought my situation was difficult. When I was in India in March of 2020, I was banned from re-entry into Cambodia after having JUST moved there! It was absolutely heartbreaking and I'm still sorrowful about the past two years. But to have a partner in a different place than you must be so hard. I'm sorry to hear of your situation. FINGERS CROSSED we will be reunited with the places AND people we so love. I can't wait to get back to cambodia.
