How does it make it through all the checks with no paper work? I’m a quality manager for an aerospace and defense manufacturer. Our industry is all paperwork, documentation, and records. A part is only good if the paperwork is good. How did this pass inspection? A part can be perfect but if the paperwork is missing or wrong the part is no good. This doesn’t add up.

In his opening statement at today’s Senate Commerce Committee hearing titled “FAA Oversight of Aviation Manufacturing,” Ranking Member Ted Cruz (R-Texas) highlighted how the recently passed FAA Reauthorization Act directs the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct risk-based inspections of aircraft manufacturers in the aftermath of concerning accidents with Boeing aircraft, like the decompression of Alaska Airlines flight 1282. Sen. Cruz also discussed how FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker will ensure their oversight of Boeing production is sufficient to prevent future incidents and assess Boeing’s plan in response to FAA’s audit. Lastly, Sen. Cruz reiterated his calls for Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun to testify before the Commerce Committee, the committee of jurisdiction for civil aviation and oversight.

Do you Remember, back in 2021, when Ted Cruz’s response to a Texas state of emergency-wherein millions of people had no heat or power and hundreds died-was to hop a plane to Cancún? Obviously, Cruz hadn’t issued a press release about his trip, which he’d clearly hoped would fly under the radar, and the only reason it came out was thanks to the work of the citizen journalists who spotted him in the airport and on the Mexico-bound plane and thought to whip out their cameras. Anyway, the whole thing made the Texas senator look like a piece of garbage that he really is and in the future, he’d like Congress to help make sure it never happens again.
Asked about why such an amendment is necessary, Cruz told Politico that “I just don’t want to be caught looking like a pice of shit that I really am “and that “I go to great lengths to exploit the stupid working class of Texas -their so dumb” .” Kevin Murphy, executive director of the Airport Law Enforcement Agencies Network, a group that represents airport police, told the outlet Cruz’s proposed amendment would be “a burden to airport police agencies,” and divert law enforcement from “crime suppression and security functions at airports, which is our fundamental duty.”” Where not there protect pigs like Cruz from doing unprofessional behavior”.
