Long time Kess player. Is she outclassed? Yes. Is she still my girl? Yes. My Kess deck is loaded with white boarders and Altersleeve white boarders for cards like Breach, etc that don’t have them. She’s a Reanimator deck (Broodlord) with an Opus Thief shell. Love her.
The content has been so great lately. Huge props to you Mons, I am really enjoying it. I am currently working on a new spin with Tasigur that might turn out pretty well. I already saw other people talking about him in the comment section. If i have success with my list I will drop it in the comments of an appropriate video at some point.
@cedhtv that would be awesome. Tasigur is just a really fun and flexible deck. I know it currently isn't really considered good by the "mainstream" but most people that like the deck, e.g., on the Tasigur discord server still get good results with the deck. The play patterns have really changed, though. Tasigur is basically not used for card advantage anymore and instead is an infinite mana outlet and an enabler for Birthing Pod effects, which are 2 things that definitely still have a high power level. It will be interesting to see if there will be anything in your data analysis that reflects that. Most people have been starting to cut seedborn muse, for example, because it is too slow and not impactful enough. There is also currently a debate of IsoRev vs. Devoted Druid + Machine God's Effigy. So there is definitely a lot of change going on right now and a lot to analyze.
If you want a Kess-style deck but want a different commander, Krark/Silas plays similarly. It likewise has a 1-card combo with Demonic Consultation/Tainted Pact. It can quickly claw back into the game from few resources. But, opponents are much less likely to kill it's commanders, and the commanders are easy to recast. The primary disadvantage is nondeterminism, which is a lot to deal with both for opponents and the pilot.
I tried very hard to play Kess in my local cedh league. You can’t play jeweled lotus well , the free spells are hard to get value out of. If you go turbo with it then rog si is better at it. If you go midrange then you’re better off with tevesh kraum. I’m still trying to make kess work. It’s my pet deck. And pilot is a factor. But since I’ve tried rog si in the league .. my win rate is significantly better.
I have thought about something like that actually. I had some ideas of the best green cards. But there could be a more in depth look into green in general.
Would love to know your thoughts on Marneus Calgar in cEDH. He's a deck I've been having lots of fun with and the Esper discord and I have been brewing lots of cool tech with him recently
I think I made a deck tech video for him. Not to old. Not with tournament data. But I think it will be a while untill I look at him again. Unless someone wins a tournament with him or his winrate or games goes up a lot. But for now I don't think I will make a new video for him as I have alredy made one kinda recent.
There are no tournament results on it yet but I brewed an Akiri/Francisco list with companion Lurrus. It's been performing great for me. If you're interested in the list I'd be happy to give my moxfield.
I think Kess is outclassed in the turbo aspect to Rog/Si. Kess is better for midrange but grixis hasn't been played that way outside of how Ian played Kraum/Tevesh which outclasses Kess in that aspect. It's like Zur now but with Grixis. still does what it does but there are better decks.
It’s really hard to justify playing Kess in a tournament setting. The question becomes: if I play Turbo, why don’t I just play RogSi? If I play Midrange, why don’t I just play Blue Farm?
Hi, I’ve really been liking to see you taking into consideration things like p value and not just looking at the result alone, how do you usually calculate this?
the Null Hypothesis (H0) states that there's no significant difference in average winrates between two player groups: 'WINS' (players who won games) and 'LOSS_DRAW' (players who lost or drew) in tournaments. H0 assumes that any winrate differences are likely due to random chance, not a real advantage. TWe try to statistical test checks if the data supports rejecting H0 and concluding a meaningful difference in winrates between these groups.
I think that is a good 99 card but not a good commander. But yes you have been following me for 4 years. WOW! Thank you. Sorry to say kinda no the grand tho.
Ive been messing around with non ad nause rog//si builds and malcolm//si necropotence builds. Any insight or data on those would be great to continue the grixis train
I do have data on that. I don't know the answer but I do know that I have data on it. I will add this into my to do list of deck techs to do. I don't know when but it is on my to do list.
I love kess and want to have spicy include Tasha hideous laughter?! Have you done selvala?? I like Pyro build eldrazi idh from playin with power but not sure results I can get

stay true to your love!
As a long time Kess player, it’s hard to make a case for her over Rog/Si. I made the switch and am pretty sure there’s no going back.

Yes your the third I think to mention him. I guess I will start looking at Tasigur soon. Glad you like the content.
This comment though! Mons has been stepping it up a level this year! 🙏💜

Yeah, I like Kess she’s great. I have her in my Lord Xander the collector deck
I also like the instant fire covenant

Yeah it has a better winrate overall as well actually.
Thanks for the video! Would love to see a mono-green breakdown
See the difference in the big 3 mono green commanders, Selvala, Yisan, and Marwyn
I have thought about something like that actually. I had some ideas of the best green cards. But there could be a more in depth look into green in general.
Could you do a cedh list of ojer axonil deepest might?
No it is bad. Sorry. I would struggle putting something together that would work.
Would love to see your take on rog/thrasios!
Yeah we actually have 37 games so still a bit low. But something to work with.

"Jag är ledsen Lasse, jag tror inte på det där" x)
Amazing saga... Can you do Tasigur next? Thank you
Yeah I can take a look. I don't know when. But he can be something I will keep in mind.

Yes I can take a look at it. send your decklist to me on discord micromonkey#3895

Let's ban some power partners !
So we can play something else.
Yeah partners really power creept some commanders out of this game.
It’s really hard to justify playing Kess in a tournament setting.

I think that is a good summarization.

Please make a vídeo for grand arbiter augustin IV, im from Brazil, and im a big fan from you channel , thanks

❤❤❤
Would be fun to see Krark/Sakashima!
This one I really should make a video for.

I too have been expirementing with tashas. I use it in cormela.two casts and thats usually enough to cause a scoop
Can you look into Jeska ? and her best color partner personally I feel like it’s Jund
I think it is mardu. But yeah I can look at jeska.
@@cedhtv so true Tyma/Jeska is so nice but I have always been stuck on adding ad naus or not
I wonder if I should be running Rite of Flame in Grixis midrange. I already cut Cabal Ritual...
Can get out a talisman on t1 at least
I think you should keep rite of flame. But I can see the apeel in cutting it.
