My Aventon Pace 500 E-Bike Review

- I recently purchased a new e-bike to add to my stable. The Aventon Pace 500 e-bike is a sold e-bike coming in at a pretty reasonable price tag. Great review, Marty. One thing to mention… whichever PAS level you are on it will disengage when you stop pedaling (like if you are at a traffic light). Once you start pedaling again the PAS kicks back in at the same level you were at. Nice feature.
👍Good review, I have the older Pace 500 and it is set up to have the throttle kick in after you have one revolution of the pedals. The new configuration is much better. I find it is hard to start out at a stop, you have to be sure and shift down to 2 or 3 in your gears, with the new set up it makes it much easier. Thanks for your time and effort in a good review.
Thanks for the feedback Dwight. It is nice to have the throttle on demand. I have been shopping on the bike and with a full trailer hooked up to the bike the throttle on demand makes the start a lot easier.

Got both generations. Love them both. I call the gen 1 my Road Runner. The gen 2 is my Cadillac.
That is awesome! Any significant differences in the two in regards to ride quality?
@@justmartyking Not much. The Gen 1 seems to be a tad bit more agile. That's why I call it the Road Runner. And the Gen 2 the Cadillac. Love them both. They price has come down since I purchased last year. Either one at this point will be money well spent. Hope this helps.

Good review Marty. I am looking at Aventons for my first ebike and undecided between the Pace 500 and the Level. Currently, there's a $300 difference between the two, so I'm leaning toward the Pace 500. I'll have to do without the fenders and rear rack, but I think that's the only difference. I moved and lost the charger for my aventon ebike. What one can I get to replace it?
How much does the battery weigh? Is the 49 pounds include the battery weight?
Hi Jeff, thanks for the comment. I have not personally weighed my bike. The 49 lbs is what was presented by the spec sheet from the manufacturer. I did weigh the battery and found that it was 7 lbs 3 oz. I think the 49 lbs would include the battery weight. Guess I need to buy me a bike scale to find out for sure.
After reading the BBB reviews I wouldn't touch Aventon Bikes with a ten foot pole, lol
I can understand that. I bought mine from a local bike shop so I didn’t have to deal directly with Aventon. I did buy a rear rack directly from Aventon and they failed to include all the hardware to the rack when I received it. I reached out to them, but they were indeed slow to respond. Once I got ahold of them they did make everything right with my order though.
