HIs mother was Italian and his dad is suspected of having her disappear which is also why people have a soft heart for him. He has suffered much at the hands of his father who also managed him until he became 18 and changed managers and found out his dad had spent his money on women and drugs. His dad makes Michael Jackson's father look like a saint. Luis Miguel deserves all the happiness in the world.

He's known as "The Sun of Mexico" he was loved from the beggining he was adopted as a Mexican citizen. He has been asked many times why he didnt try to sing in English or breakout in the US because that would have made him more famous but he said his passion is Spanish music and he will continue to sing in Spanish. But he is so popular within the Latin Community that he is still known in the English speaking countries.

A little kid singing with that power and range.. like you said, luckily, he is still alive, very active, he won recently around 8 Latin Grammys and for best album, best priduction of the album and best album of last year (He won also best Mariachi album of the year also in "THE GRAMMY") not to mention best tour, he made a huge tour over Latin America, Canada, Usa, Spain last year.

marcela palafox he does not use the flamenco style any more he used the flamenco style in the final frase of la malagueña only that was because of his father teaching him to sing like they do in Spain, in Mexico flamenco is not popular sheers.

This was in 1981, Luis Miguel was 11 years old. The guitarrist is his father Luisito Rey. This is his 1st appearance on TV and it was in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México. A few months later he recorded his first album and sold 2 millions of copies and since then he is been the best singer in the Spanish speaking world and beyond.
