You don't know me or what I've seen and been though during my time in the military. But of course they deserve more than just a coin, no one says they don't and I'm sure they did get more. Even though they deserve a great deal, I'm just saying that on the spot it's a kind gesture and a coin that should be cherished.
i think the dead soldier's sister appreciated it very much as i suspect his parents did too and in this instance that is what matters, for many others, all they got was a flag draped coffin with the remains of their son inside. I think our leaders need to show more gestures like this to the loved ones of the sons and daughters to they send off to war who end up paying the ultimate price. Let them be.
