Mega Man 8 A Unique Experience

- In the far off reaches of the solar system two alien robots engage in battle. Severely damaged they both begin hurling towards earth due to gravitational pull. One of these Robots crash lands onto earth critically damaged. Upon arrival an energy source manifest in the surrounding area in the form of dark matter. Wily discovers this location and begins to extract the dark matter from the crash site. Utilizing the newly discovered matter he then begins infusing it into his robot designs. MegaMan discovers the fallen robot and we are introduced to Duo! Duo’s purpose is to destroy dark matter before it spreads to other robots. And spread it has... Wily now has created an army of super charged dark robots and its up to Mega, Duo, and the gang to put an end to the “Matter” at hand!
This was the deciding factor for 12 year old me to finally buy a playstation. The jump to 32 bit with Cd quality sound and full motion video! Before then I was a die hard nintendo fan but with the N64 all my favorite franchise were no where to be found. In a time of some of the ugliest 3D games Sony and Sega was still making beautiful 2D! Going forward though the environments here are large colorful and vibrant. There’s so much going on in these stages and for the first tine in the franchise you have in game dub. The biggest addition to the franchise here is the use of multiple weapons simultaneously. You can now chain attacks together and incorporate the mega buster when equipped with a weapon. If you owned the Ps1 version or the Saturn version there both great. But the inclusion of Cutman and Woodman in the Saturn version makes it the definitive version for me !

Saturn def got the better deal out of the two releases

Mega Man 8 is the only Mega Man game I DESPISE. It is viscerally offensive. A total piece of trash and an insult to anyone with any taste.

The PS1 and Mega Man 8 was the first games I bought that day, but the collection that come out on PS4 that Mega Man 8 is too different and not the same as the one on PS1, and music was different as well
I remember trying the collection on ps2 and some of the MM8 segments were unplayable

considering i've seen a master system hack of megaman 2 there should have been a real master system port of the game also, and also a megadrive port of megaman 5 rather than a wily wars compliation of the nes trilogy.
I’m surprised they didn’t port the MegaMan 4 gamegear releases over to the master system. I was always a little disappointed we didn’t get something a little more unique with the gamegear release.. It would have been fun to see Sega fans get the MegaMan V treatment with an all new MegaMan story

@@waitingforwelfare 🙏 Just seeing classic MegaMan in that era was special. The opening FMVs the over the top robot masters and the fact that we had voices to match it just felt like a big deal. Capcom was on another level at that time
Pretty solid video overall.
IMHO, while 8 is the weakest of the console Classic games, it was still alright (even if I liked &Bass more)
🙏 that’s the one title I still need to finish… MegaMan and Bass. I get half way and then I put it down I just gotta power through it. The themes and robot masters are great but I get wrecked towards the second half and I just gotta suck it up and finish
@RockinKatReviews I will say this ... the King stages are easily some of if not the worst final stages in the Mega Man series.
1 is manageable, 2 is a massive pain to sit through, and 3 is a boss rush in the worst way (Kinda like how 1 and MMX did it, although done terribly as it happens all in one stage rather than being spread throughout the stages)
@@sonloto8010 I just finished MM9 and MM10 so after 11 it’s next up so hopefully that will get me warmed up for it. Any advice on the run as far as playthrough? Do you typically use MM or Bass I feel MM is the better choice
@@RockinKatReviews I played as both, and while Bass makes some platforming challenges easier, when it comes to bosses, Bass takes a bit longer (especially as he does less damage against bosses). For first playthrough, Mega Man is preferable.
@@sonloto8010 I noticed how little Bass effectively deals damage to the robot masters and I already feel that is a marathon of its own.

@@RockinKatReviews I think you should cover the whole package, i don't think my opinions have changed that much from NES to MD, i hold both versions of all 3 of these, the same, except for Mega Man 1, i feel like the one to be treated the best in Wily Wars, is in-fact Mega Man 1, feeling much more refined, and finally having saves, which 1 didn't even have passwords.
@@RockinKatReviews I didn't feel motivated to beat X2 to be honest, so i just moved on to Mega Man X4, and boy, this thing, hands collectables like candy for the most part, now this, is how it should be done.
As for classic Mega Man, i'm still half-way there, Mega Man 4.
