Absolutely right Rob, the Overstocked that lake. Hard to believe at one time in the 1990’s you could catch 7+ Lb Browns, 5lb Rainbows and 20” Kokanee, that’s for real because I did that back then. And even 5 yrs ago 17” Kokes but the DFG again screwed up something good like Overstocking.
Reducing hatchery releases because of dwindling native stock is the best way to increase the predation on native stocks. Ideally you'll want ro raise hatchery fish to be in sync with wild fish so you can put hatchery fish on the gravel with wild fish. The way they are raising hatchery fish now only creates a fish suitable for either spawning only with other hatchery fish or artificially spawned which creates a situation where you cannot build abundance of native fish to achieve maximum abundance goals.

I went to America lake yesterday. I caught 5 kokenie at 19 inches. Come to American lake!!!
The best way to mismanage a fishery is to manage it. WDFW Is excellent at mismanagement of anything salmon related.

My opinion, Kokanee pan fried with some spice is the best
