    Mike, I have both a 770 and 790 JD tractors. Neither of my engines have as much side-to-side movement as your 755 upon start up. Is it possible you have a bad or loose motor mount? Great video. Love your channel. Lee

    lol, let's pull the whole engine out. take it completely apart, ice blast clean the parts, sand blast the frame, and powder coat it some bright chrome like green, lol as the kids would say, add some bling green, after all it's still a deere, lol, and put it back together. i guess we, you,lol, would have to make an oven big enough for the tractor frame so we could powder coat it. lol, hey we could make a bit of change powder coating stuff. like the rims on the tractor, the road drag, etc.
    what? it would only take a couple of hours. lol
    but it would be fun. let's add heat and ac to the tractor lol, like a fan. how cool would that be. in the summer we would have heat in the winter cold, lol. i'm just saying. the hvac would work. i'm just saying. lol.

I'm trying not to be "that guy" I only have an idea that I think you could build and would take zero time as a cool add on feature for your rake. Since you already have power ran to the back you could buy a 12v worm screw actuator (you can find them on the internet) to actuate your ripper up and down so you wouldn't have to get off the machine at all. I'm going to add one to my snow plow so I can tilt the blade left and right so I don't have to get off my side by side when plowing. Just an idea🤷‍♂️

    Hey Mike, I've been watching your 755 videos. We just picked one up for my dad to help with his yard maintenance and make things easier for him at 76 years young. I'm curious, I know you like your 755, but with a lot of the type of work you use it for what are your thoughts on why you haven't gone up to an 855 or maybe even a 955? Other than price. The 755 we picked up wasn't treated the best unfortunately, but it was reflected in the price and we are working through it to fix the issues and clean it up a bit. My thoughts were not to go to crazy and try to find an 855 to upgrade my dad to in a year or so. I really like the size of these tractors for what my dad needs and I like the old school mechanics of it for ease of maintenance. I think it could be a good video topic if you could explain the benefits and limits of each level of the 55s. Why you decided to stay with the 755, if it's just the devil you know type of thing, availability or something else? Thanks for your content, there's unfortunately not a lot of thorough videos out there on real world use, upgrades and maintenance on these. Thanks from another Mike!

    Hey Capt., your alternator is the same 40 amp alternator as the 855 and 955. When you get ready to replace it, contact a local alternator/starter shop and see if they can't just rebuild yours with a higher amp stator. I've stopped buying new alternators and have started rebuilding them myself which isn't too difficult.

      Sure just! Just need about 2k and I'll be able to purchase all the equipment I need. Hopefully later this summer I'll have it setup.

    I do love your humour. You come across as a really nice guy, doing real projects with real constraints. It's easy to relate to, amusing and instructive. Perfect. Thank you for putting in the time to make these videos.

    Nice video, consider getting an insulated cover for the positive terminal of the battery, it doesn't take much for the tin work above the battery to get bent down and cause a short. as DP knows.
    Use a resettable breaker on the anderson pig tail.

    Hi Mike. Pleased you received the oil wrenches, as I watched you time and again use the fan belt method and as an ex mechanic on All sizes of machines from CAT D9 to small ride on mowers as well as chainsaws thought something like what I used would not go amiss in your toolbox. Also useful on pipe fittings and water filtration units, so could be of help with the rentals you end up building. Hope to see you when I travel over from the UK and visit Farmer Chris as I also used to build those silos he has just had on his farm. My one bucket list journey left is driving the whole of Route 66 using as much of the original as there is that is accessible, when the travel and covid stuff allows. It also allows me to visit my ex para medic Buddies who married members of the American armed forces and all seem to live on or close to the route. Enjoy the tools and see how long it takes to break them lol.

    Are you using any kind of diesel fuel additive? Many times these additives have chemicals in them that can work on seals and cause them to leak. Otherwise it could be the ultra low sulfur diesel fuel that is required now. Very odd that all three seals would be leaking all at once. Also, use the box end of the combination wrench whenever possible. This helps keep from rounding off the corners of the fitting.

    • @CaptainKleeman
      @CaptainKleeman  2 роки тому +1

      Well they started one at a time,. Over a years time they were all leaking lol. I let it go too long

    • @davidmorse8432
      @davidmorse8432 2 роки тому

      Ok, so I noticed quite a bit of engine vibration especially at low rpm. Do you think that might have had something to do with the seal failure? It seemed like the one fitting was even loose. The one closest to the front of the tractor was too easy to break loose.

    They say not to use an extension on a torque wrench

    • @CaptainKleeman
      @CaptainKleeman  2 роки тому

      A straight extension is fine, unless you start using knuckles or other attachments to change the angle, there isn't an issue.

    I did not send them. My research the 755 and 855 use the same 35amp alternator. The 955 has an optional 40amp alt.

    • @CaptainKleeman
      @CaptainKleeman  2 роки тому +1

      Yup, that is correct. I need to measure Mike's on his 955 to see if it would fit, but I don't think it would be a problem

    Tractor sounds like it runs way better and has more power. If you clean the crud off the top of the battery and clean the negative post and cable, you may find you don’t need a new battery yet. I’ve been told the crud on the top can allow electric to flow between posts.
    Best wishes. Kevin
