So funny when you read the lyrics and have a good knowledge about Christian religion, I certainly become perplexed as to why Christian’s would find this song offensive. So this song points directly at people worshipping false idols that claim to represent the word of god. That god speaks through them and that by worshipping them you are worshiping god. Then comes the ulterior motives from those false idols.
I used to sing this song as a power tool (no pun intended), to harden my heart and give me a sense of superiority against a particular man. He lied through his teeth and everyone blindly followed him, tormenting me further. This song really helped me feel superior to him, and gave me the courage not to give up in such an unfathomable situation. In a way, this song literally saved my life. Music is the best weapon, yet the best healer. Thank you for this song... ❤

From the time you posted this I have lost at least 8 childhood friends from overdosing and one of those just this year was almost 8 months pregnant and others before this post was made. I could go to a pain management center and get prescribed opiates but I know I would abuse them so I don't go. This is the first time I have heard this song but holy fucking shit this is incredible. I fucking love Tool, so it’s always a blessing to find yet another song to enjoy. I can seriously hear the clear Grunge influences in this song and it is amazing. Like, indescribably amazing in terms of a perfect mixture of Tool’s unique, consistent components in their signature composure and the more (somewhat) laid-out and clear “genre” that is Grunge all perfectly blended to create something... breathtaking. Combined with the mockery of the musical style of The Doors that completely surprised me, I truly admire those behind the creation of this song.

This is the first time I have heard this song but holy fucking shit this is incredible. I fucking love Tool, so it’s always a blessing to find yet another song to enjoy. I can seriously hear the clear Grunge influences in this song and it is amazing. Like, indescribably amazing in terms of a perfect mixture of Tool’s unique, consistent components in their signature composure and the more (somewhat) laid-out and clear “genre” that is Grunge all perfectly blended to create something... breathtaking.
Combined with the mockery of the musical style of The Doors that completely surprised me, I truly admire those behind the creation of this song.
