You can make 2020 your greatest financial year to date and YES it will require hard work but if you're not afraid of putting in the work then you have some opportunities. Starting a business has never been easier (literally, we're so spoiled!) let me help you get started with some free video training I put together. You can access it here: tatianajames.com/freetraining

I felt compelled to take the time to share with you some of the most costly and time-consuming lessons I've learned over the last five years of business. My intent is to share with you a perhaps new perspective and plant a seed for you to think about as you start your own business. I'd love to know which of the lessons most resonated with you, comment below!
    1. The power of a team
    * Your growth is limited when you’re a solopreneur
    2. Hire slow fire fast
    * One wrong hire can cost the business
    3. Grow, Grow, Gone
    * Understand your current limitations
    4. Not all debt is bad debt
    * Learning how to leverage debt to help grow your business
    5. Bookkeeping
    * You want your bookkeeper to send you three statements at the end of each month. The P&L, the Balance Sheet and the Statement of Cash Flow
    6. Read the fine print
    * Ultimately, you’re held responsible for the decisions made in your business
    7. Pay 30% deposit and not a dime more
    * You need leverage with suppliers in order to protect yourself
    8. Prioritize your self-care
    * Taking care of your mental health is crucial to our success

Thank you Tatiana, for all of your advice, business knowledge, time, straight forward, no nonsense words of wisdom! I enjoyed all of your points. What resonates with me is… be up front with my expectations, hold those I hire accountable; while realizing we’re not perfect. Careful in hiring friend/family! Hire a great book keeper and get those three reports every month. Don’t be afraid to borrow once my business is rolling. And as you constantly preach, take care of ME! You are an inspiration! There’s not one video of yours I would change. Thank you again!

I appreciate your sharing your life/business lessons with us- I think you make a great point about taking care of yourself and your mental health! That is a very key point! And sometimes it's easy to forget because there is always so much to do- especially as an entrepreneur- especially when you feel like everything is on you- all the time... Thank you!

As a small business owner myself, I have learned the same lessons as you described. When I deviate from core functions or standards I have set for my business it gets me into a whole lot of troubles and headaches. What you said is absolutely the truth. Everyone who watches this video should pay heed because this truly what running a business is.

Tatiana, just wanted to send you some love from Canada, east coast. I’ve been following you since you’ve started this journey, and following Stefan even before that. You are an amazingly beautiful human in every way, and I hope you understand how positively you’ve impacted so many lives. I started my own journey with a leap into Stefan’s ASM affiliate am so thankful I made that leap- it’s truly been life changing. I’ve admired you both for the incredible value you continuously deliver to your audiences. Thank you, for all that you’re doing. ❤️🙏

#3 , #4, & #8 really hit home with me. My mental health is my ultimate why for going this path. Having the ability to escape toxic family & coworkers bc now I have my own money etc. Also, timing is perfect when you were talking about getting a loan bc tomorrow I'm doing fund&grow through your link after a few phone calls with them. Thank you so much Tatiana! You're such a big inspiration to me! 💜

Hi Tatiana. I’m a new aspiring Amazon Seller still working on my first product. Watching this segment is pretty deep, because you covered not just the business side, but also aspects about life. It means a lot to me because, even if I am not yet successful in this business, I am always aware of the bigger things in life as you mentioned, mental health, happiness, humility. Great job, Tatiana! And thank you.

As for cash flow statements (cfs), better to ask for direct method cfs rather than the typical indirect method cfs (for operating activities, anyway). The indirect method is a short-cut approach to preparing the cfs in that it just extrapolates your operating activities cash flow from the beginning and ending balances of relevant accounts found in your balance sheet: e.g. if your inventory is lower by $10,000 at the end of the month then the indirect method just assumes that you converted that to cash worth $10,000. If your receivables increased by $5,000 then the indirect method will show that as a reduction to your operational cash flow for the same amount (it's not intuitive, I know.) The direct method shows you actual amounts for each accounting activity (e.g. how much you actually paid for inventory, how much you actually collected from customers, and how much you paid for expenses). For a business primarily dealing with operational cash flow (rather than investing and financing cash flows), the direct method paints a clearer picture of your business cash flows.
TLDR: ask for direct method cash flow statements from your accountant

I love the way Tatiana ends the video!! To me it is the most important thing!! Take care of yourself, Worry about yourself love yourself be happy with yourself because at the end of the day the one going through the process is you!! And like she said you have to be mentally and physically ready for any failures or success you face during the process❤️
What scares me about building my own business is not failing right away but succeeding and not knowing how to handle it after.
Tatiana you are the best and honestly such an inspiration 💪🏽❤️

I really resonated with #7 & #8. I paid my supplier on Alibaba.com but she sent me a tracking number then claimed it was in error, then marked my shipment as received which released the funds in the trade assurance. I am still waiting on the correct shipment details and she has been paid in full with no inspection 🤬
For #8 I’ve been so frustrated with regular work and with my supplier I’ve kinda put everything on the back burner but need to get my head back together so this was a GREAT video for me and encouragement!

It is great to hear all of this. I liked a lot, but the emotions tied to failure was good. I am totally aware of failure but a lot of times, I get debilitated by my emotions and it is a snow ball effect, I have had the issue ofthinking " why am I atteacting these issues" but in reality, its all about creative solutions. I live your style and elegance. I am starting a mew online biz soon and I feel a bit confused, but its ok.

Thanks Tati... I would have to say... Grow, Grow, Gone... I went from 120 units/day to crash because of being unable to re-up my inventory :( I'm not giving up): Thanks for the encouragement!
