The spur gears look soft and they don’t appear to have been hardened. Grinding on them will only hasten their demise. Remove and replace both with hardened gears.
I’m glad you posted this because I was looking at buying one and now I know to harden the gears before assembling. Thanks again for everything

Just ordered this in the UK, thanks for the review. Any chance you can upload the video of you fixing the gears when you do it? Keep up the good work bro. Daz

I had that problem with the gears and I did fix them. Now the mill won't give me a deep texture. What can I do

Not sure. Those gears really have nothing to do with the amount of pressure the mill rolls with. That's all to to with the adjustment on top. I never ran into that issue but I also don't use texture plates.

You can make a longer handle, but the vevor doesn't have a great gear ratio. You may consider, in the future, getting a mill that has a 1:4 ratio. I believe the vevor has a 1:2.5.

I ended up upgrading to a durston Mill. This one got me through for a little while but it definitely left some things to be desired

Out of curiosity, what size would you say is too large? I’m a bladesmith and a rolling mill would save me time as well as grinder belts. Also, does it work on heated metals?

Honestly I have no idea how this would hold up. To my knowledge these mills are best suited for softer metals. Steel can dent the rollers. If you were to try it you can fit about 4ish millimeters through but I'm not sure it's going to be a good fit for blade smithing

Is the ring stretcher from VEVOR too? Is the rolling mill built where you can take the top and bottom off and put longer rollers on it, like 14" or so long? Thanks man.

The stretcher I got on Amazon actually. Less than 200 dollars I think. I never really experimented trying to take the mill apart. I've since given it to a friend because I upgraded to a durston.

@@codydagutis6639 The durston is more expensive, is it better?
