Just replaced my Q7 alternator… the replacement part was air cooled, so I was extremely surprised to find coolant lines on the one I pulled out! I returned the air cooled part and found a like-for-like water cooled refurbished unit.
It doesn’t appear you had to put the car in “service position” (basically removing the bumper cover and pulling the front clip out 4” inches) like would have to be done in an S4 or S5.

That is correct I just removed the radiator fans as a unit and that was it
