Patrick, you are seriously my hero. I had a 77 in my calc 2 class. After discovering your videos I brought it up to a 92, letting my keep my 4.0 GPA. I have recommended your videos to all of my classmates and the whole class's grades went up. You have no idea how much help you have been to math students around the whole world. We are forever indebted to you.
at my university we have study rooms in the library full of students watching PatrickJMT on big screen TVs. PatrickJMT is the Psy of math. Trump says he's tremendous
@ClownDatWalk for the first year and first few hundred videos, it was simply just something to do; then google started its partner program so i do now get a cut of the ad revenue that google makes from my vids. it was never my intent to make money from the videos, just a nice opportunity that came up along the way. thanks to their program, i am able to cut back on my tutoring job which is why i have been able to post many more videos this past year
thanks! You just saved me about an hour of head ache, my book just totally glosses over this step. So annoying, goes into to excruciatingly unnecessary detail about finding the LCD then skips this step entirely and the next step magically appeared. One line was all I needed! Thanks so much man!
You are saving my life right now. I swear integrating with partial fractions was making absolutely no sense to me before watching your videos. Thank you so much.
I'm sure you hear this all the time..but dude, you seriously are a hero. What I couldn't understand in class, has now become second nature due to your incredible help!!!! THANKS!!
Just gonna take a second to say thanks so much for the sacrifice you make in producing these videos, they properly explain everything with that one on one feel. It truly helps alot and I'd like to say thank you my friend.
dude ur the man!! you understand how many people you are helping out on exams and stuff. You are taking a big part in making this world better by educating engineers and people alike!
yeah same here too in the Philippines you are a LIVING HERO!!! before i'm thinking to how to pass the exam after watching lots of your video lessons now I'm thinking to how am my going to perfect the exam. tnx a lot patrick!!
Just wanted to say thank you for all of the great amazing videos. I know lots of people come here who have horrible teachers and what not but I just come here to review what I learned and really strengthen my math skills.....and just browse over some parts that Im not so sure about....Thank you!!!! :)
I knew the cases but didn't know when exactly to apply them, especially the repeated factors....thanks for showing me how to approach it. Great explaination. I have a test on partial fractions, graphing rational functions and quadratic roots. YOU GIVE ME HOPE!!!
I don't think I was the only one who noticed, but I guess you got it wrong on the last part... It should be 3 instead of 0. I hope you don't do the same mistake again, but so far so good... you really are a good teacher and you did great tho. I really learned a lot on making up the tedious parts especially on doing manipulations. thank you patrick :)
My teacher taught us a simplified version of these methods... but without going through the trouble of teaching the details like you did, I got real confused about why you do certain things. I much prefer your teaching methods. Thanks for going into details.
Yes, I have a test tomorrow 9/17, I hadn't a clue what I Partial Fractions were. The Teacher rushes through his lectures because we only have 50 minute per periods. This has really helped me grasp the material. Thank You!
if you were watching on a computer you'd see that he put a notation :P it's about time that we can see those notations on phones too, eh? come on youtube...
@magepurexx13 well, the why part is a bit harder to explain (it is has to do with continuity of functions). check out a calculus text book for this. and if you were taking my calculus 2 test, you could certainly do this.
You are one of the supporter to spread the love around the world by contributing your knowledge to everyone. Man I wish there is a way to vote you as one of the very few people who do help million people around the globe thru the internet. I just wish you all the best and success in your life. God bless you xoxo
@@patrickjmt Sorry, I didn't mean to come off that way. I meant it makes quarantine less tolerable. Thanks a ton to you though! Your videos have reaaally helped me since 11th grade. :)
Thank you for making these videos, I've been having trouble learning all of the BC(calc 2) things from the book and all of your videos explain them really well and make it easy to do problems with these questions on them
thank you!! my precalc teacher just taught this TODAY and we have a test on it and a bunch of other stuff tomorrow. thank you for all the help! especially the tip about determining the degree of the letters on the numerator :) that was confusing me before
I have the feeling that some people who watch these videos will make important contributions to mathematics someday with you being the one who unknowingly lead them to that direction.
thank you Patrick for all the video uploaded , helped me a lot to understand step by step all the mathematical methods used and explained thank you once again ,and you people don't get so concerned about one small mistake thanks
EY PATRIC. THANKS HOMIE, I HAVE A SEMESTER TEST THIS SATURDAY AND I WAS FREAKING OUT CUZ I JUST COULDNT UNDERSTAND THIS NO MATTER HOW MY PEERS EXPLAINED. THIS' A BREAKTHROUGH FOR ME. THANK U
When you get to the part where you have all the equations listed out couldn't you use liner algebra to solve for the unknowns using row echelon form? At 20:11
hey, i believe you missed the coefficient of the constant value on the last problem. it should be B + 4C + 4D = 3 not equal to zero as you put. You may have just overlooked it as it was a long problem. Thanks btw for all these videos, i've been using them for the past three years (from high school to college) for review. They're extremely helpful
@patrickJMT I assume you to be very relaxed since this opportunity came up, and you're doing this with your interest and talent which does not seem like you're in pain of making videos. Maybe that is why your videos are filled with enthusiasm and able to help us more than any other youtuber can (at least that's what i think).
You got confused from all the zeros, so you put the constant terms, B+4C+4D, equal to zero aswell when it really should be equal to 3. Great job with the explaning though, really helped me alot!:)
@jaysoonii am i on youtube university? they would not let me on before since i am not affiliated with a particular university, except for the university of patrickjmt
I remember watching this video back in Calc II and thinking, I'll never need to know the long way of doing partial fractions! And here I am in, 2 semesters later in diff equ, coming back to the same to finish the rest of the video Haha. Cheers.
@WithASideOfFries Calculus. This part is just basically algebraically manipulating a rational function into smaller rational functions. The main reason for doing this is to be able to integrate it more easily. Instead of integrating the huge rational function we had in the beginning, we integrate smaller easier rational functions.
In the future could you please put in the description links to the "course" of videos we should watch to learn new materials?? i.e. links to introduction of partial fractions through links to the hardest example problems? sometimes I'm not sure which order to watch the videos! thanks for all your help!!!!
Patrick: Thanks for all this videos they really help me to understand my math class. Thanks for the note pointing the mistake. Can you do the same in the video on your website? Again thanks.
@ClownDatWalk well, sucky pay for me as i have no phd. do not get me wrong, i loved teaching and met more awesome people than i ever would have otherwise. but there were certainly some people that always made it 'not so fun'
Finals are here and you are saving my assssss, in PreCal. Your Videos are way better and more comprehensive than that other Guy..AKA SAL from the Academy. Plus his voice is kinda creepy. Thanks a million I learn more from you then in class.
When you can't find it on Khan Academy, my boy PatrickJMT got you covered
Max Bolton the Lannisters send their regards
+Max Bolton i think you have that backwards
+patrickJMT you are the man
+alonso alzua where did we found the "3/5"
+alonso alzua we substituted x = -1 from (x+1)^2 and D only had (X+1)^2 so we equalled it to 3 and solved it check 15:08 to see it in this video

i don't know where i would be... without Patrick J M T!
B+4C+4D=3

lol yup i knowXD
noreeta adam i think so too

my pleasure! come back any time :)
can't thank you enough man, this is exactly what i need to reinforce my understanding of what the teacher slops up on the board every day.

patrickJMT...come to my university's maths department study area and just look at atleast 40 students watching patckJMT... KING
Wow, well done...I am officially a fan. You explain exactly what students need to hear...crazy concept
i love this feeling when everything just clears up for me :)
Thanks again patrick!
Thank you for making these videos, I've been having trouble learning all of the BC(calc 2) things from the book and all of your videos explain them really well and make it easy to do problems with these questions on them
Omg dude, THANK YOU.
You explain things so clearly, you save me sooo much time!
I would not be able to survive without your videos! thanks for getting me through Calc 2 lol
You're handwriting is soooo nice, and the video is even better
this guy is the best, i can understand it so easily, thnx man, keep it up
thank you for this!! I will definitely be recommending these videos to my classmates
Why didn't you include =3 in the 4th equation? I think that is also what made me get different answers if I used the other equations.

u r awesome man. u makes maths so easy..😇😄😇
A= -6/25, B= -9/25, C=6/25, D=3/5
are these values correct?
Garrett Munson I got those exact same values
+Garrett Munson Same
yeep
An answer from the future says: that’s correct
I set it up in a matrix and solved for A and B the big brain way, these are the same answers I got, cheers!
thank you Patrick for all the video uploaded , helped me a lot to understand step by step all the mathematical methods used and explained thank you once again ,and you people don't get so concerned about one small mistake
thanks
Long time subscriber, first time commenting just to say keep up the good work man!
thank you so much and you're so nice for apologizing the way you did, we should thank you; you did your best!
Thank you, my teacher can't teach, you're a life saver.
patrick, you have the handwriting of an angel...
@avianbc glad the videos helped everyone : ) patrickjmt in every classroom! : )
you are a complete genius, thank you so much for the amazing explanation! Finally got a right answer after trying for hours on a similar question!

thanks so much patrick! explained this way better than my calc 2 teacher!
This 28 minute video taught me what my teacher tried to teach us in 3 days.
You got confused from all the zeros, so you put the constant terms, B+4C+4D, equal to zero aswell when it really should be equal to 3. Great job with the explaning though, really helped me alot!:)

Thanks for making such easy to understand content!

At 20:23 should not B+4C+4D=3 ? why equal to zero?
I was wondering the same

Thank you for your help you are great in evreysense of it.
My remark is on the constant part 3 might have been omited?
Thank you thank you thank you. Can you make 'Patrick is my Hero" t-shirts so I can wear them to calculus class? it would give me good math vibes.
At 19:45 you equated to 0. Why not =3? There exists a constant so shouldnt you equate it to whatever constant exists? Thx
