Hi Andreas, you've done a great job with this video(s). I don't know when you get to see this, but I would really need to get in touch with you. I'm about to begin prep for NBEO (Part 1-Part 3) and I believe personalized insights and advice from you will benefit me. Please, kindly get back to me when you get this so I can know how best to communicate with you. Regards.

Hey man. Thank you for the compliment! My email is doctorandreas94@gmail.com feel free to reach out for me there. I’ve been on vacation (hence the delay) but we could schedule a zoom call where I can give you insight/advice etc but the consultation may come with a fee. We can talk more via email.

Hi Andreas, thank you so much for these helpful tips! Would you recommend reviewing the KMK big 8 and non big 8 books used for part 1 to prepare for part 2 since the book for KMK part 2 are only cases?
Also, have you heard of the NBEO part II study guide Castillo Book? Would you recommend this? Thank you again!

Hi! You’re very welcome! I wouldn’t recommend looking at the nonbig8. Maybe the big 8 if it’s related to Clinic (ex. Disease, binocular vision). I almost never referred to the part 1 books. Your focus should be Part 2 book and cases cases cases! I never used Castillos book but Ive heard from many students that it has been very helpful!
Keep your eyes open in the fall though because KMK may be launching some new content within the next few months 👀

do you have any idea how these exams are scored? Is it just a simple 75% pass or is there some sort of curve?
Im looking all over and can't seem to find examples of how this exam is scored.

The exams are scaled from 100 to 900, similar to how the OAT or SAT are. If you get a 300 or above you pass, below a 300 you fail. The actual percentage that equals 300 varies with every testing session, but historically it’s ranged somewhere from 70-75% (I don’t remember exactly off the top of my head), probably depending on the “curve”. In the NBEO website there should be some score reports from like older years
