Only God can do this other than Dasettan. The combination of the great voice, clarity of swaras, the speed and the improvisation. Thank you Dasetta for this wonderful piece of music.
wow I was the first to comment but all should see this video u feel so happy to see him singing so well I request u all to encourage his singing pls if can share it let his fame spread far away on WhatsApp facebook and even other apps
Yesudas is a singer, not a musician. His voice is awesomely beautiful but that only means he is a great singer. His classical music ability is only as high as that of any mid-level performer. For instance, at 2:10, he sings sa-ni-da!, Well, Abhogi does NOT have a ni. If it had a ni, it would no longer be Abhogi. It would be Sriranjini. If you don't understand the difference, here is a simple way to look at it: KV Narayanaswamy is a musician, not a singer. KJ Yesudas is a singer, not a musician.
Lord Karna ! It is not justified for the people to just sit in the seat of judgement and pass such remarks uncalled for and unwarranted. After all we are ordinary mortals and the people like yesudas are god sent.
Such momentary lapses can be forgiven! KVN, I agree, is on a different level as compared to KJY. But to denigrate KJY as a mere singer would be a grievous fault. I still haven't heard a better kanakangi than his (BMK would be a close second).
Raghu nath i dont think so... If one has the capabilities and control over the his or her own vocals there is nothing stopping you exploring new heights in carnatic music... There is no laws such a varnam should not be elaborated and what is gimmicks my friend?? It sounded gimmicks for u.... Well varnam is much more tougher than a krithi is what i have always felt thats what makes a singer..
@@ramachandrankandathody1992 Haha Mr. Ramachandran.. Why should I be ever jealous of KJY? I have never harboured aspirations to be a singer. Nor can I sing carnatic music even at the basic levels.. I can only stand apart and listen and enjoy the divine magic at work.. Not even a single day passes by without my humming at least 5 songs of KJY.. Handling varnams shows a classical musician's mastery on the medium than krithis and keerthanas.. I referred to the 3rd kaalam of the pallavi only when I passed the earlier comment. I said that only because I felt so.. That is all. And I feel I have at least that freedom on this platform..Thank you.
@@vaisakh9VV I was only referring to the 3rd kaalam of the pallavi.. I made that comment only because I felt so.. Nothing abusive about it.. In fact I always have felt that KJY's varnams are always standing apart in their treatment and rendering.
As a carnatic violinst, I understand what you are saying. However varnams are known to be toruturous for their excessive amounts of gamakas and elaboration. Abhogi varnam is actually quite mild in this term, varnams such as Kamboji varnam contain so much elaboration that my hands have bled playing the varnam. Due to excessive "elaboration and gimmicks", varnams have fallen out of favor for the public. Yesudas sir is able to bring the gamakas and the beauty together which firmly places him as one of the best carnatic musicians. He has made this varnam into something that the common man can enjoy and love.

Those who are jealous of his popularity would talk all nonsense, as if they are the last word for Karnataka sangeetha
