Very interesting review and opinion, I drive these pretty much everyday and tbh I do like them but I honestly the gearbox is very annoying. They are often laggy on pullaway and jerk alot. The Enviro 400 hybrid is much better in this regard, also the suspension is too soft they bounce alot, also the cab door comes in a bit too steep of an angle meaning you cant put your bag by your seat.
J67 the passenger layout on the Gemini 2 and 3 is exactly the same. I know this because on my regular route with metro line, they use a mix between the 2 and 3, the exterior is just different. I also prefer the Gemini 3 exterior.
In my opinion, ADH is the best to drive. That is Alexander Dennis 4.00. The acceleration is very smooth and the braking is just superb. The only downside of it is, it could skid when the roads are wet.
...hi Neb...yes...gone are the days of the old trolleybuses! The good ol' days! I hope your enjoying your retirement! Electric buses will be the next bus to take over from diesel and hybrid!
Did you ever drive a London trolleybus? I understood from the book, Beneath the Wires of London, they never had power switches on the system...no retrievers either! In Hamilton and Toronto the systems were never brought up to modern European standards before they were scrapped. Even as they were the trolleys we had were far better than the diesel and natural gas buses that replaced them.
G'Day Anton , another great video mate, would love to see more of these videos , really enjoyable. This Bus by the way, this Bus is a Volvo Gemini 3 Wright Bodied , incase you wanted to know :D. any way, enough of me being very picky, hope to see more of these videos, love these reviews, keep them coming, have a nice weekend mate
Hello! DoubleDeckerAnton, just want to ask a question why do you not go inside the cab? to show what the cabin is like inside as a driver point of view.
Volvo's would be my favorite truck makers and bus too buy id never trade my vw passat for the world most comfortable car i ever sat on especially for long journeys lol I driven an fm12 and I was in an fh750 and driven it too and holy shit they're so lovley! also a scania R420 from a mate. also driven a vanhool coach that's got volvo engine and gearbox and i love driving it. I rather those than a piece of shit daf any day. Bus Eireann in Ireland would have a scania irizar coach mostly have 3 axle and steers at the rear and volvo wright city busses which ill be driving mostly. and another interesting part is they're all automatic.
The bus does look kinda good. ☺️ it's shame we don't have a side rear door up in West Yorkshire anymore only time had a side door was the 72 Leeds to Bradford bendy buses. It annoys me why First got rid of them. 😣
they put the bendy buses out of service, because some in London caught fire and mostly broke down, and yes I do remember going on a bendy bus as well! when I was very young.
Bradford and an articulated bus dont go verry well they used to run in york we used to have articulated buses around greater manchester the scanias i do miss them buses thay got withdrawn because they keep braking down
I love these volvos Gemini 3's I Sean one with the repaint at the back yesterday and I zoomed my kindle out to get a photo I did just since the window was covered with dirt on the outside the picture wasn't exactly as clear as I thought
Great video Anton! The seating model on the MCV EvoSetis is uncomfortable but the seating model on the Gemini 3s is so comfortable! These buses run on my local, route 295! Yesterday by the way I tried out the new SEe's on the 360! They were amazing and seem quieter than the first batch of ADL E200EVs for the Red Arrow routes, and there's also USB charging too!
This is me alllll over ant! The ones I drive at my company have no black panels on the headlights which make me feel like a cut above the rest of the streetdecks in London. Driven these on routes: 1, 18, 19, 14, 22, 74, 88, 220, 243, 123, 188, 341 & 430 and up to this day still cant get enough, im literally annoyed wherever ive been and my changeover pulls up and its some bloody Alexander dennis or maybe an older volvo (gemini 2 or older version of the 3)
They are quite like wright streetdeck on the outside, bus seems really nice inside, the only 2 double deckers by volov I have been on are the Olympians and Gemini 2. I find the gemini ans new volvo busses better than the new ADL e400mmc because it seems a bit plasticy
I haven't had the best of experiences with these, especially with their smaller sibling Streetlites. Not insanely reliable for me, I'll take a B7TL or Trident 2, thanks.
Hey Anton Out of curiosity You know how those lights turn on when you open the doors Some buses are needed to press a certain button for that Do the lights turn on automatically or manually?
I like the streetdeck sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
The plexiglass that separates the driver from the passengers is really weird for me because I have never seen something like this before where I live in Germany, is that standard in all busses in the UK?.
Northern Irish hand built wrightbus gemini 3 facelift can come with either Volvo B5LH chassis which is what you have in this video or you can get what translink metro (one of my local companies use) which is a B5TL the newest Volvo chassis released to date or of you choose the whacky tri axle B8L which is utter rubbish but what can ya do lol
Gemini 3 doesn't come with B8L, B8L offers Gemini 2 body which are still being built for tri-axle chassis. The Volvo B9TL tri axle version are still being built
Whats the Rolls Royce of buses? I have always wondered that. In Bristol we have the new First double deckers which look amazing. I believe they are wright buses. Edit: just saw the video and its the same bus as this one that we have in Bristol, Leather seats and WIFI!!. Not that I have ever been on one, or any bus out of London for that matter. 😂
....I like we'll built, strongly engineered buses...this Wright bodied feels very solid...and it costs more than a MCV Evoseti and is better built than a Evoseti. These Wright Hybrid Volvos are growing on me and I find they are easier to drive than the MCV bus. The buttons to operate and faster in use and have a solid feel!
I have only got on these buses a few times. I like the hybrid engine ass it's fast accelerating, I like the bus itself however the look hasn't fully grown on me. It looks smart and practical but then not good looking. They feel well built, I would say Enviros are better looking but don't seem as well built.
Interestingly Anton the non hybrid version of this bus, same body, they call it the B5TL,is painstakingly slow,& apparently has a different gearbox from the hybrid type version,a very slow & under powered bus mate, nice to drive though, but not so good to keep to time with, funny how 2 different drive types are so different
I think these are okay, nowhere near as good as the previous model (Gemini 2) though, they were far better made than these ones. These ones aren’t bad but a lot of them rattle a fair bit, which isn’t great for a new bus.
See Ant you said “it might yet be your new favourite bus type” 4/5 years later i say this to you in real life or whatsapp and your probably thinking whats so good about it, but think you’ve forgotten how you felt when you first drove one haha
This is a different video! But a really good one! Brilliant video, Anton! :D
Minelogical RBLX ....thanks 👌
More Bus reviews for the Bus geeks! Keep em coming Anton.
Iam a bus geek
Much prefer the ADL Enviros as a passenger point of view
I used to see these buses on the boat from heysham to Ireland when I was in there with my truck
I Love The Streetdeck Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Much!
@__ I know it's a Gemini 3
Could you do a video on a day in the life of a London bus driver? Love to see a whole day at work.
Rohan W I agree.
Rohan W from a passenger point of view, the interiors are nice, I like the seating layout, the ride is comfortable and they’re not jerky.
The Gemmini 2 was a better looking and the layout was better in my opinion , do you drive any Gemmini 1 or 2s
J67 the passenger layout on the Gemini 2 and 3 is exactly the same. I know this because on my regular route with metro line, they use a mix between the 2 and 3, the exterior is just different. I also prefer the Gemini 3 exterior.
I've seen some of the old volvos from London in and around Birmingham as school buses
the light is very nice!
In my opinion, ADH is the best to drive. That is Alexander Dennis 4.00. The acceleration is very smooth and the braking is just superb. The only downside of it is, it could skid when the roads are wet.
We do have some double-deckers in Canada but I was a trolley operator until I retired...much prefer the quiet of the trolleybuses.
...hi Neb...yes...gone are the days of the old trolleybuses!
The good ol' days!
I hope your enjoying your retirement!
Electric buses will be the next bus to take over from diesel and hybrid!

The wright busses are made in Ballymena Northern Ireland
Thanks. Nice bus. Engine sounds like a firecracker
Channel 7 HD ....is that the other bus at the beginning making the firecracker noise?
DoubleDeckerAnton no. the wright hybrid engine makes a kind of clicking sound as it accelerates.
Smashing bus, lovely seating on lower deck, got them on the 19 and 30, yet to use the upper deck.
Same here, its very nice and looks sick 👌
Amazing video I watched this in class and now
I love video, nice video anton👍
Amazing video, would like to see more. With the looks I personally prefer the Enviro 400MMCs.
Good video!
Da Sushi ..thankyou Da Sushi 👌😀
looks lovely, better than all our deckers that are stuck on derate and have no heaters.
Nice Video mate, i get the feeling you really like this bus :)
Nice review I passed my case studies CPC so I only have 2 more to do the driving test and the he cpc part 4 Anyway great video keep up the good work
Hello! DoubleDeckerAnton, just want to ask a question why do you not go inside the cab? to show what the cabin is like inside as a driver point of view.
....I'm not allowed to film inside the cab!
I'd love to but i can't take my camera phone inside the cab!
It's a nice bus until the air con starts blasting cold air on the upper deck. Also like the EH's.
Great review of the bus!
Anton I got these as well but do you remember in London they had first bus
That because you have a car Volvo and you love Volvo haha
Volvo buses are falling in recent years unfortunately (in fact most of the bus manufacturers are)
Greg Walker ...the volvo is a relaxing and comfortable drive!
DoubleDeckerAnton Nissan micra good recommend! Haha
Do you ever do night shifts anton as in right through the night driving any N routes or 24 hour
I love these volvos Gemini 3's I Sean one with the repaint at the back yesterday and I zoomed my kindle out to get a photo I did just since the window was covered with dirt on the outside the picture wasn't exactly as clear as I thought

The newer EvoSetis at Putney have the same seating type as the Gemini 3s!
GamingOnWheels - Gaming&Travel Woaaah
Its nice to see you here
This is me alllll over ant!

It is Wright bodied Hybrid Volvo
It is correct!
They were new in August 2015 as your company (that cannot be named) got some down in the Bromley area for the 119 and 202
Anton how old are you
And many years you driving buses Yorkshire And London
I haven't had the best of experiences with these, especially with their smaller sibling Streetlites. Not insanely reliable for me, I'll take a B7TL or Trident 2, thanks.
Hey Anton
Out of curiosity
You know how those lights turn on when you open the doors
Some buses are needed to press a certain button for that
Do the lights turn on automatically or manually?
Can you please show us the cab controls and buttons too?
Can't. Work policy
Great vid anton!! Maybe a plaxton president next?
Camberwelll don't have any since the 45 was lost.
London Buses oh ok
I like the streetdeck sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
prefer mmcs tbh but good video
The plexiglass that separates the driver from the passengers is really weird for me because I have never seen something like this before where I live in Germany, is that standard in all busses in the UK?.
Yes it is
I like those Gemini 3 and 2 there amazing
I love them buses
I like the Enviro400 hybrids more than Gemini 3s but I like Gemini 3s more than eVoSetis
Same
They are wide seating even on TransLinks Ulster bus and Dublin Bus in some areas but I'm jealous you more wider seats on the lower
To me the Evo SETIs are a bit smaller in Size if you look at both buses side by side. But I prefer the Gemini 3.
Shirley is the other side of Croydon nr bromley
Northern Irish hand built wrightbus gemini 3 facelift can come with either Volvo B5LH chassis which is what you have in this video or you can get what translink metro (one of my local companies use) which is a B5TL the newest Volvo chassis released to date or of you choose the whacky tri axle B8L which is utter rubbish but what can ya do lol

Bus and Lorry Driver Saint Leonard the gemini 3 is now being made with tri axle for Hong Kong etc
Bus and Lorry Driver Saint Leonard oh also thanks for trying to prove someone from northern Ireland (home of wrightbus) wrong
Well, I think Singapore are having a test B8L Gemini 3 fl, but Hong Kong don't have Gemini 3, but they have one Gemini 2 bodied B8L operated by KMB
Yep though HK has just received a Streetdeck (but with a larger 7.1L engine) and a MCV B8L as well
First day out on my own tomorrow after having a mentor for 2 weeks, so nervous.
Anyway great video
1:11 Stagecoach bus route 356 to Shirley
Enviro 200
I’ve been on the Wright bodied gimini3 bus before on the route 123
More leg space on the right might be to do with the stairs on that side. While on the other side more seats so less leg space.
That bus looks sexy hahaha am surprised they're built in NI but the steering wheel looks like the old version. volvos are the bees knees.
You forgot to mention the handbrake and back doors problem.
Rahan omsi 2 content and more Whats that then?
Can u do one on the enviro 400
I live in Shirley second to last 198 bus route stop
...I've never been to Shirley! It sounds like an interesting place! Why is Shirley got that name..? 🤔
Whats the Rolls Royce of buses? I have always wondered that. In Bristol we have the new First double deckers which look amazing. I believe they are wright buses. That’s the 176 because your at Penge
I live around 20 miles from where Wright Bus are made in Ireland
Wright buses are good buses
What route are you driving today
Anton, there was a driver on the 360 who looked just like you today morning...was it you driving the NEW SEe at around 9am?
BusesInLondon no it wasn't me...I've not driven the new electrical ones yet!
Thanks for the reply, the person that I saw whilst filming looked like you. He gave me a friendly smile
The drivers are saying they are smooth to drive
Jon Snow, Orlando Bloom, Penn and Teller type Bus Drive
How do you adjust the steering wheel on these busses
Do you mean the Gemini 2 or Gemini 3
Paddy Friday night seating.wanted to go home
Oh it's a gemini 3 nice
People who like Gemini 3s
👇
Is this a Volvo again?
Why are buses side mirrors so small
I think these are okay, nowhere near as good as the previous model (Gemini 2) though, they were far better made than these ones. These ones aren’t bad but a lot of them rattle a fair bit, which isn’t great for a new bus.
I love Gemini 3 I wish getting RR river road bus garage MCV came from Egypt 🇪🇬
See Ant you said “it might yet be your new favourite bus type” 4/5 years later i say this to you in real life or whatsapp and your probably thinking whats so good about it, but think you’ve forgotten how you felt when you first drove one haha
Do you work for Metroline???
spbtheyoutuber//STY he can't tell you but if you look at the seats you can tell it's a go ahead bus
also you can look at 0:38
Wright Volvo Gemini 3 Hybrid
Lol our buses hace heating on in the summer and air con in the winter i know it isnt the drivers fault its got something to do with the bus
They look more like frogs to me
Because there really different
I'm only interested in hybrid buses
#ECO
Wright Gemini 3 vs ADL E400 MMC?
Nathan Adetayo it has to be ADL Mmc
Built in northern ireland. So there british built.
...oh sorry Nathan...your correct...I kept thinking Wright bus was in Ireland and not Northern Ireland!
They didn't measure it right
And route 262
Shouldn't you be picking up passengers instead of making videos
....when I have a 10 minute + stand time...then i can film a short informative video like this!
Why does the bus make this snake noises
I hate these wright bodied bussses
