Mistakes we make are our biggest issue. Not the salt. Not the RODI. Etc. important to share these so we learn and try to remember should something begin to happen to our boxes of water and our pets. Thanks for sharing. Great info. Great come back.
Wow Tristian....Sorry for the loss bro. 🙏🏿 So glad you battled thru it all and ur friend has helped u out. The hobby has ups, downs and like u said “silver linings.” Now u will be back better than ever!!!! I’m watching and learning. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Producer! and yes the silver linings are the best part. A person dosen’t plan to fail. They fail to plan, in this case I planned in advance what I need to do in the event of a crash.
You will love liveaquaria salt. It has done well for me. It good to see you bounce back and it is a really good point to stock corals with other reefers. Can't wait to see more of project Moby. 😂👍👊
So far I’m loving the salt. I do test before using it though and always make sure it looks good, part of me was thinking of dropping a bag of carbon in my mixing container.
Wow!! who knew 🤦🏾♂️. Alk must have spiked much higher than you realize. Sorry to hear this news. Trident would have given you a heads up. Looking forward to the new project👍🏾👍🏾
Goes to show you how fragile our systems can be. A simple bump of a knob, etc.. can wreak havoc. Glad you had a backup plan and will be able to recover.
I left on the Carbon Doser. It regulates the PH inside of my calcium reactor but leaving it on after bumping the bubble rate caused it to melt Media too quickly. Coupled with my fast drop rate it raised my dKH fairly consistently over the course of s few days. The spike went from 8.3 to 10.4dkh
So sorry you lost so many acros especially since you don't know what caused the crash. But as you said you know how to grow acros and you will be successful at it again. Looking forward to hearing about project Moby
It happens and when it does it’s a shame. I can’t say I know a stickhead that hasn’t had a few setbacks. I’m just glad I banked my corals with a friend.
Great video, good luck.
Thanks Robert
Great video
Thanks nick!
So sorry about the crash. Rebuild looks sick. Looking forward to Moby and the reboot.
Thanks Aw0ken, the reboot is gonna be something special for sure!
Good luck with the bounce back
Thanks medic !
Great update. Never make changes before a trip. I found that out the hard way.
Yeah these changes were unavoidable except the carbon. But in most cases yep no changes,
Tristian's Reef lol carbon was the exact and only thing I changed when it happen to me.
That sucks man. Hopefully this reboot of the tank comes out stunning.
That’s the plan Jacob!
Sorry to hear the news
Wow sorry to hear, you will bounce back im sure!!!!!!
Absolutely Marlin! Good friends like you and SC got my back no chance of failure.
It’s unfortunate when things go wrong in this hobby but they happen. Glad to see that you have restarted your tank and also have plans for new ones.
Oh yeah things are kicking into high gear!
A knowledgeable and honest and well educated video.
Thanks ATF!
Dang it Tristian. Sorry to hear this man. I know you will bounce back. You definitely have the reef touch! Best of luck brotha’ ✅👌🏼✌🏼
Absolutely a Reefaholic! I plan to. Thanks for the support!
Tristian's Reef - Yeah it makes me sick with you bro. Just throw some nice small colonies to make up for the lost time. Then grow those out. 😉
Oh dude!!!!! I am so sorry this happened 💔
It happens Tina just a part of reefing. Get sloppy get burnt lol. I’m over it. Time to focus on some new exciting things.

That’s why I have a trident right now! Lol loving every minute of it too.
Sorry for ur loss, probably a bacteria problem, water changing without supplementing the bacteria might do it, prodibio is the shit!,,
Still an AWESOME TANK Man!!! I really enjoyed it when I came down!!!
Anthony any time buddy! Don’t worry I’ll be back soon I got over 200 pieces ready for this thing !

Thanks wise reef! And OH YEA fire is an understatement!
Goes to show you how fragile our systems can be. A simple bump of a knob, etc.. can wreak havoc. Glad you had a backup plan and will be able to recover.
Sorry about the losses. What's good to hear is that it was just a setback and you have a plan to go bigger.
Thanks Arrick!
So sorry man i had a crash my self stay positive bro we all need to get together on fish-tube again like old times
Sorry for the bad luck. What is the name of the yellow Tang with the black tail and Yellow trim?
That would be the beautiful adult coloration of a Yellow Chocolate Mimic Tang (Acanthurus Pyroferus)
@@TRSCAquatics beautiful doesn't do him justice. Are they pricy?
Kevin Pamer not at all juveniles are around 30-50 bucks adults around 60
@@TRSCAquatics that's perfect. Thank you.
Heart Break , way to man up though
Hard video to make, harder to admit when it’s your fault, but easier to rebuild because you know where you went wrong.
Why would leaving the carbon reactor on full cause a crash? Are you talking about activated carbon or dosing vodka or something
I should also note that STN. didn’t begin until DAYS after the incident and after the dKH was back to normal.
Yes, banking corals with others is a good protection for a potential failure.
I’ve done this since I started the hobby. I know not everyone can but maybe I’ll start selling coral insurance.
Omg omg brother it's feeling sad... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
So sorry you lost so many acros especially since you don't know what caused the crash. But as you said you know how to grow acros and you will be successful at it again. Looking forward to hearing about project Moby
Sorry to hear bro, keep pushing
Your buddy from jersey do he have
A channel??
That is a heartbreaker I know I just killed all my fish by making a stupid mistake but I'm starting over also almost gave it up
It happens and when it does it’s a shame. I can’t say I know a stickhead that hasn’t had a few setbacks. I’m just glad I banked my corals with a friend.
Damn when are you going to give me some copies to keep for you
Coming soon Gt lol!
