Im 16 and absolutly CANNOT WAIT TO GO HERE WHEN I TURN 18. This shit is my lifeblood. I cant believe theres an event for it. Im gonna save up for this bc im going ASAP. I have no one to go with but idc ill go lone wolf.
Thank you so much for making these videos Makeshift!! This information is vital if you are new going out or as a re-fresher course on what to be mindful of. I sadly won't be out there this year but shared to my Facebook for friends who will be. Have a great time!
saving up for 2025 event i so so so wanna go to this event. also find it interesting that there is a newspaper as i actually work for a local street newspaper that creates income for homeless folks
Max just max of max's famous barter. A TV here so excited to see all my home is again. And all the new people if you guys see a fat dude on a big ATV with way too much stuff. Definitely flag me down!. I love bartering and helping newcomers to the festival.
Every year I try to go something comes up, that said I’m determined to get there. Thank you for making these makeshift, in a way I can daydream this way :)
Huzzah! Thank you for the updateed video. As a extra on the topic of propane, the state of California is looking to get rid of single use propane tanks (the Coleman kind among others) so if you're going to be doing propane get refillable tanks.
This is such an amazing video with VITAL information. Thank You so much for this. One idea for tent visibility at night.....They make Glow-In-The_Dark tent ropes. The aerial pictures make it seem WAY bigger than you describe. I still worry about how I'll do in the terrain in my manual chair. Yeah, I made the decision awhile back to be UNtribed and just go off on my own as much as I can just so I don't slow people down or have to wait for them. An idea I had for illumination at camp was these solar powered flame torches.
@@glennmorganfan9411 thx for the feedback and adding your perspective. Don't forget that if you need help please reach out to any wastelander for a quick push or some help with the sand. I can speak for a majority of us that would love to lend a hand
Thanks, but that is something I'm going to have to get over myself. I have a long history of people assuming I need and WANT their help, so they don't even ask. .....and a long history of some shitty drivers pushing me into things. (People, ditches, trees, buildings) I'm sure it will come up. We shall see what happens.
Spider note (this has happened at least once out there) - if you get bit by a spider - namely a black widow - there are 2 varieties - take some pictures of it so the doctor can give you the correct anti-venom. If you do not then the doctor cannot administer anti-venom and you have to suffer through the rough symptoms that come with the bite. Thanks for making these videos Makeshift - I have been watching them since 2015
what would be a good solution for someone disabled that has mobility issues, getting from further out camping, up to where all the cool stuff is happening? In a future year, (WW 2025? I hope) Ill be driving cross country in a WW themed small RV. will not be able to bring a secondary vehicle like a bike or motor buggy-cart
So I'm a dingbat and I just reread your question so I'm editing. As far as I know the event itself does not provide any mobility aids, however if you see somebody driving by you can ask them for a lift to wherever it is you want to go. The whole event itself is flat (except for the fallen wastelander memorial) so if you can somehow bring a walker and can manage walking short distances a lot of people are going to be cool with you sitting down as long as you ask nicely
@@InquisitorDrake overall, the roads are passable with most mobility devices, although they're not smooth or paved or anything. Having a group there that can support you would be of great benefit, but I'm hoping some others will chime in with a bit more first-hand knowledge.
What is your understanding of the last day of wasteland.. every year I've been there there was always sombody saying to pack it up and tear it down.. as long as we are packed up can we stay? Is there anything happening other then pack up?
There's not much of anything that happens on Sunday. There's the morning sermon with Brother Justify in the AM, but mostly just everyone packs and heads home. Generally they'd like everyone to be out of there by sundown, though you'll definitely see several of the larger tribes (and tear down crew) camps will still be there.
@@VampireCatLegacy while there's a good amount of that, there are some very wasteland weekend specific things in here. There's also some differences from other festivals that are a little nuanced

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the body shop also carry a stash of wasteland basic garments that is community-fed?

What is the political environment around this event? I don't want to hear or argue about it at something like this.
