"it reminds me to enjoy the simple moments and random interactions in RuneScape." hearing that from somebody who spent so long playing the game really makes me smile gz beast!
These new quests have amazing puzzles. They do take some time, but you get tons of hints and lore along the way. They are also easier than puzzles in old quests (light puzzle in ME2) so in the end it doesnt take too much time to solve. Ghorrock prison was one great escape room and personally I have enjoyed this the most from DT2
I'm super excited for it too but I actually think he will have an easy time compared to some other quests, they give a ton of hints out compared to The Door.
Every time you mention My Arm in a quest the NPCs make the same joke about not understanding, Kharzard just yelling nobody cares made me laugh so hard when I did this quest.
Fun fact, Khazard is canonically the son of Zamorak from before he became a god. He didn’t tell him this though since he believed showing any favouritism would make him a pussy. He does care about him secretly though, and intervenes when Zaros threatens him. Hazeel is also the most chill of the Zammorakian Mahjarrat. He pretty much raised Khazard, and is seen as the friendly wise Grandpa of the Zammorakians. He doesn’t even really hate the Zarosians.
Also Hazeel looks different to the other Mahjarrat (like his horns) due to him originally being a Mahserrat. His body was twisted when he left them (all according to RS3 lore). Is Hazeel really the most chill though? He was one of the Mahjarrat that actively participated in the rebellion against Zaros.
I love the Mahjarrat story in OSRS. Theres this constant sense of being WAY out of your league as scary skeleton demons discuss matters FAR beyond our characters comprehension lol. Another banger vid, Jim! Much love!
Dude playing Desert Treasure II and While Guthix Sleeps was like the best experience I've had in Runescape it makes me want to play RS3 so I can experience more quests. I can't wait to see J1mmy's reaction to that reveal scene in DT2, the clock ticks speeding up as the scene was going on was such a cool moment.
I'm an RS3 player that couldn't abandon my account, I've almost maxed now and I can safely say the quests in RS3 as well as playing in a way where you just do what you feel like doing are what kept me around. If you haven't tried it out yet I highly recommend making a new account and doing prince Ali rescue or whatever it's called now.. 10/10 and there's so much more to come, while guthix sleeps has come to osrs and ya'll are loving it, on rs3 the storyline is FULLY fleshed out. It's delicious 🤌 while guthix sleeps is just the beginning
16:22- Actually the Fallout Vault comparison is somewhat right (Runescape 3 spoilers) The ritual was a plot by Seren to prolong the life of her and Zaros' dying, eternally lucid dreaming, eldritch-overpowered mom known as Mah (Elder God who made them, the Muspah, Mahjarrat, Nihil, etc.). The idea came when Seren disguised her voice as Mah's and told them of the ritual. When they figured out it was a lie they did a final power-reversal ritual that basically just used Mah as a sacrifice instead. Making all the remaining Mahjarrat effectively immortal and putting Mah into a vegetative state in which Seren had to tragically "pull the plug" by mercy-killing her own Mom. Now if you feel bad for Seren. She basically drove a race to near extinction by killing one of them every few centuries (Which got accelerated to once every less than a decade or so when Mah was dying) to save her Mom that the other Elders basically declared a still-born and forgot about for billions of years. Also she did almost doom the whole universe and betray basically everything Guthix taught her to save the Elder God's reincarnations who would've also probably annihilated her on the spot.
I am looking forward to what J1mmy does with Lassar Undercity. Imagine if the Strange Voice is actually youtube comments. "There is a youtube channel that says you fell off." "There is a commenter whose prose haunts your dreams." "There is a void where your nostalgia used to lie." "Your fate is sealed, By Release, and only one question remains..." "Do you really think you can complete the quest?"
God, I love the story of this quest. Just the way everything's set up, and the bosses, all the way up to the climactic ending, it's marvelous. Can't wait to see Jimmy's response to it all unwraveling.

Watching this during my lunch break and the whole “oh I’m jhallan… WHO!?” bit made me laugh far too loudly to the amusement of my unsuspecting workmates 🤣
16:34 damn that’d be funny if that’s actually the case, if that’s how Zaros got his revenge or it was Zamorak keeping the rest of them in line or something. interesting idea
The funny thing is this is literally the RS3 lore. Seren came to them in disguise and lied to them so the magic would return to the elder god that created her and Zaros

In RS3, Jhallan is a friendly guy who accidentally turned into a Muspah in his sleep, and you end up freeing him and relocating and refreezing him close to the Ghorrock prison to help him evade the Ritual. The complete opposite of the horror game antagonist he became in OSRS. The entire Ghorrock prison area is a more puzzle-heavy remake of RS3's version, where you had to recover the Frostenhorn for the Temple at Senntisten quest, which unlocks Ancient Curses (which would have been introduced into OSRS as the Ruinous Powers before they got scrapped). Dr. Banikan is the same character as Dr. Nabanik from RS3. That's why Terry says his name wrong at first.
