This is a full Meeru island tour (West to North, back to South), starting with the arrival at the Velana International Airport, Male. From there, we took a 50 minutes speedboat trip to Meeru Island where we were received with drum beats by the staff. The tour continues with the West side of the island, up to the North sandbank and Jacuzzi Water Villas.
The next day, we went to explore the East and South parts of the island, ending our tour with a lovely sunset.
Meeru Island Resort, surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and long stretches of white, sandy beach, is the only Resort on the island of Meerufenfushi, North Male' Atoll. It is 1200 meters long by 350 meters wide, about 60 hectares (105 acres). Your speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport is a scenic, 55 minute ride. The 284 Rooms include 77 Jacuzzi Water Villas, 27 Water Front Villas, 83 Jacuzzi Beach Villas, 77 Beach Villas and 20 Garden Rooms.

Heading to Meeru at the end of July. How is the eastern part of the island compared to the west?
On the eastern part you'll find the infinity pool and the nursery coral reef, but on the western part the water is more turquoise and the sand is more powdery. All in all, the island is simply amazing!..
@@ADondeNext We had a great time! The island is truly amazing. The Eastern side is definitely recommended for this part of the year since the western side is very windy.

Although it might seem boring, it's actually one of the biggest resort islands in the Maldives and the only one that still has raw jungle... For me, it was the perfect 5 days getaway.
