Back in the day I could only grab the rim and that’s after doing leg exercises. I’m 6ft tall. I had a mate the same height who had crazy athletic genes. He could get his elbow at the rim with no leg exercises or training.
U either got it or u don’t. But u can improve what u got delt to an extent.

Get a bike and work them legs, jump rope also great to get specific muscles and get them toes ready aswell. Any push & pull leg workout should do, for basketball id imagine high volume is over high weight and there is a limit (weight/muscle/oxygen)
