I'm a rick main to, and I'll give an example on how to stay more consistent. So the combos actually depend on DI. So let's say if someone we're to DI towards you, you instead do a side tilt -> fair. This usually happens when your near the ledge and people just hold the direction towards the stage to stay alive (obviously lol). So try reading someone's DI input, you will get a better result for more portal combos
idk if anyone else noticed but for 2 frames after resetting the training room it flashes the inside of someone's mouth there's teeth or something like that was tripping me out lmao

In 5:48 you used laser into portal, but when ever I try to do something like this especially with the jab, it teleports me instead of him to me. How do I fix this?
I think Hephaestus who with Thats flammable doc, speed force assist, and armor killer is the best for 1v1. (that is just my opinion tho other ppl could say something else). and i dont really have much experience in 2s thus far but i just run the same thing in 2s
Directional input can have a big effect. If someone keeps doing their di in it can be hard to get portal to connect. I would lab it a lot so u know when portal will connect based on the angle they are flying. At higher percents I find it a bit easier to get consistent jabs into portals.
The skis are super good for starting combos with people that won't approach you the don't have a lot of knock back til you get to high precents so it is easy to combo with

I don’t think he is bad at all. He is a very good character in my opinion but I do think he is extremely hard to play. He might even be the hardest character to play in the game
I just input side special right after i get the hit depending on the angle the opponent gets sent. You have to input the side special instantly and not hold it to get close portal for the combos shown in the video. Instant side special input will always put the portal in the same spot.

The Squanch perk stacks with That's Flammable Doc so your opponent gets ignited with damn near every hit after you do a portal lol.

You have to input portal instantly after hit. Sometimes you may have to follow to where the enemy is.
is rick justt bad or something bc i can never land any of thsee comboes and every time i use him it just feels impossible to land any moves at all
