  • In this video we show a swimmteich from the first to the
    last stage of construction. In this swimming pool the whole family participated and the result is a beautiful natural swimming pool in the garden.
    Enjoy watching.

    What is the specifications for the liner? How many mm thick? material?

    What's the perpuse of the drenage pipes, perforated pipes under the rocks?

    • @teichswimmer6746

      Hi Martina, thanks for your interest. As this system works without pumps and power, the drainage pipes support the natural water circualtion going through the "gravel case". - In the pipes the water can flow through the gravel case and like this the organic stuff that sinks down through the rocks has no chance to become anaerobic material......
      On the other hand, sediments that get into the pipes (through the perforation) drip down into the swimming zone (and then further down into the deep zone).

      @@AutoNomades Well, of course it will work if you still to everything that is necessary - like the depth, conic walls and so on. Difficult to imagine that you build all this on top of the ground instead of digging in.....

    The Earth mover you used would absolutely qualify as using technology.

      Yes, of course you use technology to built a swimmteich, but you do not need any to run it........

    Hello! Do you empty it sometimes ? Do you put a security valve, so if water table raises, it doesn't lift the empty pool ?

      @@AutoNomades What do you mean? - There is no security valve...... It is a very simple construction actually.......

    • @AutoNomades
      @AutoNomades 6 місяців тому +1

      @@teichswimmer6746 Yes I know. The security valve is a valve that keeps closed any time there is water enough to keep the pool not "floating" if water tables raises. Otherwise, if for any reason you haven't enough water to weight the pool, annd for any reason water table raises fast, then the pool is at risk to lift from the ground, destroying all the system. It's a common mistake, even in "normal'' pools construction.

      @@AutoNomades hm...... I think we do not have that problem because of the ring drainage that runs all around...... So in case there is "too much water" - the water just runs down the ring drainage.....
      The other situation - that the weight of the water body is not strong enough to cope with the water table - we have not heard of, so far. No - it's even different: We know of 2 cases where the water table was higher than the wanted depth, so that guy pumped out the water of the water table all the time while digging, refinishing and even while the liner was installed. In the end he just cut the end of the pipe that went down to the bottom (underneath the liner). - And never had a problem again......
      I think, due to the depth, it is a huge water-body that can cope with rising water tables. At least, we have never heard of a problem.......

    Looks awesome. How do you keep the algae and little animals and critters out?

    • @teichswimmer6746
      @teichswimmer6746  11 місяців тому

      You cannot "keep them out". We fish them out with a net. Others use a swimming skimmer. if you do not do anything the situation is like with a natural lake: you have some stuff floating on the surface. That stuff will eventually sink down to the ground. If the wind blows it usually blows that stuff on the surface in one corner and there it's easy to fish it out....
      But if you want to have a surface without any floating stuff you need to install a skimmer.....
