I am LOVING this new season of 'Off Our Needles'! You gals are fabulous! I am binge watching each week's videos on Fridays and Saturdays, in my Shop during my open hours. Getting projects done while you educate and entertain me! Life is SO good! Thanks!
I purchased one of these kits for my birthday before Christmas! I want to finish a few projects first and then start my Fox Paws scarf. Xandy is an amazing designer - such beauty and surprise in everything that she does. And I love your videos, Grocery Girls!
I agree with Jodi - I'm never going to knit this! Having said that, I can appreciate the beauty and intricacy of it and adding brioche - well, my brain just exploded!!
I love Xandy's designs. They are like works of art. Thus far I have been a bit scared to knit them, but I love them! She has another pattern that also intrigues me. It looks like granny square stitches, but they are knit. I have a goal of figuring out how to do that so I can knit myself a granny stripe afghan someday instead of crocheting one.
I-CORDS!!, it's not that hard, but I haven't quite figured out how to do a proper granny square. Because I don't crochet, it's all a bit of a mystery. But the shawls were ok. They just don't have the 90 degree angles to form a square.
What an interesting video! I love seeing new things and hearing how designers come up with new techniques. And I love this new series of shorter videos featuring Traci and Jodi working with Craftsy. Craftsy, you've got two winners with these delightful gals! I'll watch anything with them in it, and often follow up with looking at the yarn and kits offered as well!
I started this pattern about 2 years ago. I like a challenge, but this one really stumped me. After frogging several times, I just put it away. After your video, I feel encouraged to try it again. Will also take a look at designers video. Thanks!
Hey, you can always email me for advice. Sometimes time away from the stressful first try at it puts people right on track. There's a lot going on, it can help to visit my blog nd do some of the practice swatches and free starter patterns.
I just started watching your videos. I am looking at the different cast on, etc. techniques for knitting two socks at a time. I liked the cuff-down cast on you demonstrated. Also, that fox paw is amaza-bubbles!! I think it just went on my bucket list. Actually, its the first thing on the list. So, ladies your personalities are the reason I'm going to click on the Subscribe button and the "like" button. Bye!
I bought this kit last year and started the swatch and really struggled with it. This makes me want to pick it up again and give it another go. Thanks!
Wow! That is super affordable! Just ordered my kit! Now I have to get something off my needles so I'll be ready to cast on when my yarn gets here. I'm going to have to start hiding my yarn purchases from hubby.
So, I purchased my yarn and the pattern after I saw that the "yarn harlot" had made this, I still have not cast on but alas it is going to be a while before I can cast on as I just had a big surgery on my shoulder. So until I am healed up more I will be waiting. I do have the yarn, pattern and needles all ready to go when I am. I am glad I found this video. I was a little scared of how I was going to get through the pattern without knowing anyone else that had similar questions as mine. Thank you.
My first thought was that it was crocheted. However, being able to create such a wonderful design with knit stitches is absolutely amazing. Will I be brave enough to try this out ?..... lets wait and see. Ha ha ha.
Awwwww, Foxpaws...What a heartbreaker. When the pattern first came out I jumped all over it, and decided to make a shawl for my sister. I thought I was being sneaky and had her help me choose the colors, asking her "do you like this and this together? What about this?" Until I had all the colors needed, very similar to the earth tones kit, except with a deep grapey purple instead of the black. I thought my surprise was going swimmingly. In the first repeat I almost broke one of my grandmother's bakelite needles (what was I thinking???) and moved immediately to circulars. When I finally, finally had it done and I gave it to my sister for a present, her face fell and she said "ohhh, those aren't really my colors though, you know?" I promise I didn't murder her, but yes, there were a few tears shed. I snuck it away from her and it is sitting beside me now. I pat it sometimes and tell it, "its not you, its her, herrrr..." Ah, sisters. SMH.
Thanks for the information. I’ve never heard of the fox paw pattern and am always looking to expand my knitting knowledge. Great to know how much support comes along with the pattern.
I used your coupon code and ordered the Fox Paws kit in the Winter Sky color way. I can't wait to start it!!!! I will definitely knit a swatch first. Love you girls and your videos!!!!
I have been having fun with the swatch! I had to map out the stitches and had to try several times until I knew what each increase and decrease looked like. I should be starting the full size pattern soon! It is fun but needs my full brain. LOL
This looks fun and a great new thing to try. But, I'm still on trying to start the Scania KAL. Will there be a few tutorials on how to start this or on some of the techniques for this? I just got my yarn this morning in the mail. I've been to the Ravelry group and it sounds like I'm not the only one who needs a little help to get it started, ( the SSE in the very first stitch spot) has got a few of us confused. A video tutorial on how to get started would jump start my life! lol Thanks!
I think that would look stunning in place of the rib on an elegant sweater or cardigan. Then it wouldn’t be so daunting to make a whole fox paw shawl just ‘maybe 6 inches at the bottom edge and cuff! I am not allowed to start any thing new yet!
Finished this pattern, broke one circular needle. All in all it's a fun pattern, only suggestion is not to have distractions, one dropped stitch leads to much frustration.
I took a class on Fox Paws. Going along and then screwed up a row. Now pattern is MIA. Mine is orange, blue, white, brown, and green. Colors I think of when I think of a fox.
I love red! And I haven't seen your red kits made up into a sample or swatch for the project. 😫 Oh, well, maybe next time. xoxo from ⛅ partly cloudy Arizona. 71/44f today.
Wow...it's a pretty pattern, but I may be with Jodi here. This is either a pattern for another time in my life (9 and 11 year old kiddos), or one to admire that other people knit! I won't say "never", because some part of my brain will beg for me to meet such a challenge. (The coupon code does make it tempting to get, though!)
You know, you can totally make it a cowl, it's half the knitting and all you have to do is sew the ends together to make a loop. I am not a huge fan f knitting repeating patterns that go on forever. I get rep rage - the feeling that one more repeat will put me over the edge.
I subscribed lots of classes in craftsy...it makes me so crazy when you don't ship to Malaysia....just out of curiosity..does this particular kit ship to Malaysia . Tq
The designer does videos. I'm not a knitter, but I bought the kit, and it is well written and the videos are easy to follow along. I included a link below to the video of how to do the stacked increases
Yes, absolutely. Lifelines are a sanity saver. For me, if anything went wrong, it was so much easier to rip it back to the 4 row stockinette break than try to tink back. Fortunately I only had to do that once (okay, thrice.)
Too bad the shipping costs from Craftsy to Canada are so high. It pretty much doubles the price for us Canucks. That has stopped me ordering all kinds of stuff from them, and this FoxPaws kit is no different. Sigh. But I like your YT channel, ladies! ~Diana from Toronto
HRHDMKYT can you just get the pattern? I think I have seen it on Ravelry or somewhere. Then, get the yarn in Canada and watch the videos. I’m in Calgary so this is what I do. Good luck!
I don't like to put a kill level on this pattern because it's uses a lot of new stitches that even advanced knitters haven't tried. You need to be adventurous, ready for some wired new stuff and willing to rip out. All you need to know is knit, purl, slipped stitches, and basic increases and decreases. There are video guides and free mini projects to get you started, but yeah, Craftsy says it's advanced.
Carrie Allen Click on the little triangle at the top right next to the title of this video. It will open up the notes and the coupon link will be there.
It's just beautiful! But it looks so complicated to make. That's way too much concentration for me right now! I feel like it would work up a bit easier in crochet.
It's too bad that you don't have a decent sound engineer for these videos. The music overlays are always way too loud, and if I adjust the sound for that, then I can't hear the people. It is a pain to have to be always adjusting the sound level of my playback. I was able to catch only about half of the Xandy interview because of the distracting sound background that was laid in too loudly. Just sayin'...
You two are so full of yourselves, that there is hardly room enough to pitch your products! This should be set up so that only the people who have made this particular item would be allowed to talk about it, because you have no idea what it requires, mentally to produce this item. All of the Yada yada is distracting & uninteresting. I really object to your superior attitude on these videos, really this is the last one, cause I can’t stand the way you talk down the rest of us. It’s not a good method to attract a following. I can see by your numbers that I am not alone in my opinion of your videos. Too bad, this could be an amazing opportunity for all involved.
This zandy Person is a LIAR. SHE IS NOT THE DESIGNER OF THIS PATTERN!!! I have a shirt that I have had since the 70"s that has the Fox Paws pattern on it and if you would like me to prove it I can send pictures of it. I hate people who claim someone else's work as their own. PLAGIARISM AT IT'S FINEST. SMH.
I am LOVING this new season of 'Off Our Needles'! You gals are fabulous! I am binge watching each week's videos on Fridays and Saturdays, in my Shop during my open hours. Getting projects done while you educate and entertain me! Life is SO good! Thanks!
The fox paw is another thing on my bucket list. Cool that she is trying it in brioche too. Love you guys.

Luckily for the granny stripe afghan there are no corners. It's just stripes of stitch clusters.

Did this when I was 20, now 71 so old technique. It's great as the stacking is a great, makes it look like an architectural master piece

Absolutely LOVED knitting Fox Paws!!! I used shades of pink to make mine. I remember telling myself, very often, to just breeeeathe.

That's so rude! Some people just don't understand the value, work, and love of hand knit gifts.
Thanks for the information. I’ve never heard of the fox paw pattern and am always looking to expand my knitting knowledge. Great to know how much support comes along with the pattern.
I bought the kit when it came out and it is still in my knitting bag... Thank you so much for this pod cast! It is inspiring me to start it!
That coloring sheet is a fantastic idea! How neat 👍🏻
Fox paws really nice effect. Nice to have utube to help demystify the pattern. Thanks girls 😊 BrambleKnits 🇨🇦
Oh cool I just ordered a kit....I'm so not an advanced knitter but I am stubborn! And tenacious!
I bought mine during holidays with the specials. I can't wait to start.
Love this designer. .. very inspiring! On my knitting list!!
I used your coupon code and ordered the Fox Paws kit in the Winter Sky color way. I can't wait to start it!!!! I will definitely knit a swatch first. Love you girls and your videos!!!!
This shawl looks very interesting. I think I am up for the challenge!!
Thank you from Turkey
Of course I'm going to try it! When? Who knows, but I love a challenge!
I've always found Foxpaws such an exciting pattern so thanks for sharing this. Makes me want to do one.
Got the kit! So excited to expand my knitting!
🙀 so awesome! I have no businesses trying this but sooooo want to! Maybe someday.
I love you ladies it’s always fun to watch you- love all the way from Kuwait
I wish I wasn't working on any other projects right now. I'm ready to start knitting this today!
I have been having fun with the swatch! I had to map out the stitches and had to try several times until I knew what each increase and decrease looked like. I should be starting the full size pattern soon! It is fun but needs my full brain. LOL
I ordered the kit in Midnight . This will be a test in my knitting ability for sure but I really want to own a Xandy Peters design that I knit myself!
This looks like a fun challenge. Please tell Craftsy that the background music during your interview was horribly distracting!
I just got the pattern, I’m so excited!
This looks fun and a great new thing to try. But, I'm still on trying to start the Scania KAL. Will there be a few tutorials on how to start this or on some of the techniques for this? Ok ladies, you have for the first time interested me in knitting.
Is there a kit or pattern available for the shawl that Traci is wearing in this episode? I love it!
I think that would look stunning in place of the rib on an elegant sweater or cardigan. Then it wouldn’t be so daunting to make a whole fox paw shawl just ‘maybe 6 inches at the bottom edge and cuff! I am not allowed to start any thing new yet!
It is a great border pattern for a chevron project.
Looks lovely. I will do this but I have too much going on right now. How long will the code last?
I have tried to get thru to the craftsy page to review the kits, and this link, for some reason, is just not working for me???
Finished this pattern, broke one circular needle. All in all it's a fun pattern, only suggestion is not to have distractions, one dropped stitch leads to much frustration.
similar to brioche knitting! jeje
You broke a circular? Was it from tension on the increases?
I took a class on Fox Paws. Going along and then screwed up a row. Now pattern is MIA. Mine is orange, blue, white, brown, and green. Colors I think of when I think of a fox.
I love that fox paws pattern !! I’m a fairly new knitter so I’m wondering if it is a little a little too much for me lol
I love red! And I haven't seen your red kits made up into a sample or swatch for the project. 😫 Oh, well, maybe next time. xoxo from ⛅ partly cloudy Arizona. 71/44f today.

I purchased the changing light shawl pattern lasted year through craftsy - how do I get it pushed to my ravelry library?
Can you do this with crochet?
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹Love it!!!!
Will try it.
Love ❤️ you guys
I was hoping to see how stacked increases look, without giving away the pattern, of course. Is there a link I can watch before buying?
I have a lot of info on my UA-cam channel and blog. They're linked in the description.
Has the coupon code expired? It isn't working for me.
It's interesting but I'm not sure if I would want to knit it.
I subscribed lots of classes in craftsy...it makes me so crazy when you don't ship to Malaysia....just out of curiosity..does this particular kit ship to Malaysia . Tq
ana love You can buy the pattern on Ravelry
I wish there were hands on classes. I want so much to be good as as your worst student so to speak. Help me direct me. I want to make this
wow! çok beğendim. Lütfen önce basit sonra detaylı bilgiyle öğrenmek istiyorum. Teşekkür ediyorum.
Do you have a class for “I have no idea what to do”?

The designer does videos. I'm not a knitter, but I bought the kit, and it is well written and the videos are easy to follow along. I included a link below to the video of how to do the stacked increases
Thank you! I have zero knitting skills! A crocheter at heart, I’m going to learn how to do this!
I'm a die hard crocheter also,,so this is going to be a challenge for me,,practice, practice,practice..lol
The coupon code didn't work
Fox paws in brioche.....I can’t even!
You guys are so entertaining!
soooo Hard please help I don't know too bad fox paws knitting .
Question. Can a life line be used with this stitch? Love you ladies.
Yes, absolutely. Lifelines are a sanity saver. For me, if anything went wrong, it was so much easier to rip it back to the 4 row stockinette break than try to tink back. Fortunately I only had to do that once (okay, thrice.)

So ladies, what is the level of expertise for this design....(ADVANCED, Intermediate, etc.)? Thank you

How do I find the coupon?
Carrie Allen Click on the little triangle at the top right next to the title of this video. It will open up the notes and the coupon link will be there.
Just type in 'FOXPAWS' in the promo code box. But when I used the link to Craftsy, it just automatically applied the 50%-Off coupon.
It's just beautiful! But it looks so complicated to make. That's way too much concentration for me right now! I feel like it would work up a bit easier in crochet.
Created a Facebook Fox Paws Shawl support group. Check it out we start a knit along on Oct 1 2018

The discount appears to no longer be valid
I feel just like Jodi, no way.
Voices out of sync so couldn’t watch so just had to listen, very confusing
You need slick sharp tips I think
You two are so full of yourselves, that there is hardly room enough to pitch your products!

especially the "I will NEVER do this pattern" comment....wtf

If you have the pattern, I would like one
