16:50 While the tutorial does remarks on how freight trains are much heavier than passenger/mail and thus you'll want tractive power for freight, there are a bit more to it. It does also very much depend on the grade and distance, if you are running a long flat route then a mixed engine is likely faster for freight, but if you need to start/stop often (short/busy line) or have noticeable grades then a freight engine leaves others behind. In fact, if you have really steep grades (perhaps to save tunnel costs) you'll might want to run passenger trains with mixed or even freight engines, even if you have express engines available. It is worth keeping in mind though that express engines are generally more liked by the public, which will influence the profit of a line..
Progessing nicely there Grand! Been having issues with waypoints myself on this map and sometimes at the beginning, I get no station at Boston at all [as we should get two - Boston and the cattle/forestry]. Have to reload a couple of times to get the right result. Some routes even disappear after save loads and come back after another, same with one of the double tracks signals missing then loading in after another attempt. lol
You really should fiddle around with Trackpoints more i made that Ottawa Montreal line over 20k cheaper by adjusting the hight by one notch and the parallel Track too helps out with saving Money.
It pains me to see you growing Toronto. You're starting a sequence of events that will eventually lead to the travesty that is the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team. Otherwise, nice video as usual. 👍 Sorry for the somewhat pointless comment. As a western Canadian, I'm contractually and morally obligated to troll the Toronto Maple Leafs every chance I get.
I got the game and got a few good hours of game play. Now the game crashes my computer and shuts it down. Submitted a bug report. Hopefully I get to play this again
I'm sure they'll iron out most of the game-breaking stuff in the first patch (whenever that may be). Hopefully it addresses your issue. I've noticed turning vegetation down helps (Options > Display > Vegetation), as on "High" - it unnecessarily taxes the GPU (my 3090 included), so could lead to overheating on some cards/PC setups.
I’m totally confused about the warehouse’s. I was thinking I had to have matching goods in each one? Is it what I’d like to receive or put out? Could you please share how you click the track and delete small sections like that. Top notch vids! New too the game and loving it!
@@kreika294 yes it’s a little confusing at first I admit. Warehouse is for products made in the area you want to ship to cities further away. Best way is by example. If it’s in a city don’t put anything in the warehouse that’s made in that city for example Boston has meat so it’s directly available to ship out from station itself. It can also be for goods coming from far away like beer from Albany, so if beer was marked to be stored there, it would then be shipped to say Portland and Bangor to fill their needs. I hope that made sense. If not rewatch the first few episodes again of this series Grandt does explain it really good, but just play around with things and see what works to get each cities needs fulfilled and where you will get needed freight items from
been binge watching the entire gameplay 🫶
Thank you! :)
the fact that this game did not include Maple Syrup as a commodity to trade should be a criminal offence 😁
Indeed, they did in the first one!
Good episode.... love how you finish them off with a train ride!

Maintenance requirement is another thing to consider with freight. The cheaper to run the better, given the fixed fee.

I've noticed that too, I was testing some findings over on Game Pass, and all too often the Boston station is missing.
G'day GT loving the new RE 2 m8 keep them coming
Cheers David! :)

I do tend to do that more away from recording. It's a balance of time and progress when making a series.
A supply tower between Ottawa and Montreal might be of benefit! Also it is worrying me that for now you are ignoring the tasks.... tick tock...
We are sort of working towards the current tasks. By focusing on taking out Barti!
Wasn’t the furniture factory supposed to be built in Buffalo, as planks are being transferred closer to there?

As a Boston Bruins fan, I am with you 100%

@@GrandT I brought the game solely because of you. I hope to be half as good. Your vid’s are awesome. Keep up the fantastic work Cheers
