Great show! While I don't collect DVDs or BluRays, I am always trying to learn more about the horror genre, and your lists of extras are always invaluable. Subscriber for life man.
The original DAWN for me altered my brain in ways that can't be understood. Still entertaining and still moving after all these years. Romero was firing on ALL cylinders with that film!
My first zombie movie was The original Night Of The Living Dead. I was 4 years old. My brother said that he wanted to watch a movie and that it wasn't scary. Well, it was and I slept with my mom and dad afterwards. Also, my brother was going to a party and asked me to tape Return Of The Living Dead. He told me to pay close attention. Like in the movie, when it is nighttime and it rains the dead would come back. Well, it was at night and it did start to rain. There is a cemetery right down the street from my parents house. I just ran upstairs and hid under the bed. These 2 movies are now my favorites. Especially Return Of The Living Dead. My brother always liked to mess with me. Be he was the reason why I am such a big horror fan. We would rent as many horror movies just to watch as much as possible. They were good times. He passed in 2014, and I do miss him. But I am still collecting horror movies till this day. Just thought I would share a memory of mine. I actually heard a while ago that scientists were working on something that can raise the dead. Haven't heard anything since, but still a scary thought. I think a way for an actual Zombie Apocalypse to Happen is the satellite with high levels of radiation crashing down to earth from Notld. Because we have hundreds of satellites up there already.
My friend the great Ronald Johnson R.I.P. got me into watching zombie movies & it was back in the 80’s with “Day of The Dead” that started my love for the genre. My favorites are Day, Dawn, Return & the remake of Night of the Living Dead from Tom Savini. 👌
MAN this video warms my soul. I’m a huge zombie movie nut, have hundreds of titles on physical media. My favorite is DAY OF THE DEAD, I must have it a dozen times over on laserdisc, VHS, DVD etc. I collect zombie stuff but I go hardcore for anything DAY. TobattoVision had a couple things I don’t have, like that weird CreateSpace (or whatever) vinyl-soundtrack-on-CD, that’s just nifty. I think the ultimate soundtrack on vinyl - and a damn good-looking quality one at that - is by Waxwork: 2 LPs, great insert that looks like a blood-stained newspaper (“THE DEAD WALK”)! But it’s actually info about the sdtk written by John Harrison. Damn now I wanna show off my collection! PS Hahaha I too had the exact same experience with that exact 7 DOORS OF DEATH dvd release, no idea it was an edited version of THE BEYOND
I used to have the Anchor Bay 2-VHS copy of Dawn of the Dead. I wish I still had that. I think I got rid of it once I got that 4 disc DVD Ultimate Edition.
Funny anecdote about that Ultimate Edition DVD. When I asked Ken Foree to sign my copy recently, he laughed and said to someone who was with him, "I still got a whole box of these at home."
Great vid, I'd also like to include Rec, Train To Busan, Girl With All The Gifts and the 28 Days and Weeks later (not strictly zombies but I'd definitely put them in that bracket) films.
I must have missed this video. Phenomenal topic. Zombies films are some of my favorite horrors 🧟♂️ 🧟♀️ You need to catch up on TWD Christian, and you need to start it Brandon. There's about 25 seasons total atm and they all connect.
Kind of refreshing to hear others say Fulci’s Zombie is the greatest zombie film of all time because I agree. Dawn is a very close second, but Fulci’s Zombie has always been at the top of my list.
Death Waltz merged with Mondo, once Funko bought both Mondo and Death Waltz then fired the heads of Mondo. A bunch of heads from mondo/Death Waltz walked away. Death Waltz was one of the best horror vinyl company’s out there. They are sorely missed! They now have created Made By Mutant, one to watch out for! Also Fuck Funko
Its not so much missing, Its never going to get included ever again. Between the rights issues, copyright issues, since it sounds like they stole parts of it from another song. You will never see a version with Dead Beat Dance, thanks to The Day I Met God clearly sounding similar
Something very unique about that first MGM DVD of Return of the Living Dead that almost NOBODY ever mentions… the cover glows in the dark. That’s why the cover has a bit of texture to it that you can feel. Seriously. Try it. It glows.
The heavier the vinyl the better the record. Because records were so mass produced back in the day they reduced the size. They absolutely do not sound better. They’re way more susceptible to warping
What caught me and got me into zombie films as a kid is that it was different.. not the heres the good guy and heres the bad guy senario.. what intriged me is that is affected everybody everywhere and the aspect of people or groups of people of all types having to band together to survive against a threat to us all..
Outstandingly awesome bro! I have all 3 too but from Anchor Bay. I did have those versions recorded when original VHS movies were to expensive to buy. Heck a blank Kodak tape cost $6 and a Radio Shack(best) $12!🤑
I think 28 Days Later or (don’t laugh) Resident Evil is the most realistic way a virus could be spread. A very aggressive rabies virus or something created in a lab as a weapon leaking.
I think Dawn Of The Dead remake and Return OTLD is a great starting place. But hope those viewers backtrack to the origins NOTLD, DAWN orig, Day, Fulcis Zombie. As a lifelong Pittsburgher I hope everything gets traced back here
My first zombie film i watched was NOTLD on TV in 1972. Saw Dawn of the Dead in 78, but didn't see Zombie in the theater. The trailer was played on TV and was given an X rating. I have best zombie films and the worst ones in my collection.
Off topic but I saw Your T-shirt design, super cool. So I forgot to ask if You've seen THE NIGHTMARE SPECIAL from '75. Alice Cooper with Vincent Price.. It's great ⚰️
My kind of conversation!!! Remember the bath salts fiasco? When people were taking bath salts and stripping naked and eating peoples faces? That my friend is the start of a zombie apocalypse - TM 🧠
Only 20 minutes into the video thus far, so not sure if you raise this question. What do you think makes a better trilogy with Dawn of the Dead (78) and Day of the Dead… Night of the Living Dead 68 or 90? Personally I think the latter works better as a connected film. Now I’m not saying it’s better than the original 😂
Great show! While I don't collect DVDs or BluRays, I am always trying to learn more about the horror genre, and your lists of extras are always invaluable. Subscriber for life man.
You’re on a roll with this long form content. I think I speak for all of us when I say thank you.

Love how this turned out. Thanks for having me on, man! Good times! RAGE!
20:17 “I feel like people sleep.” AMAZING! 🙌🙇♂️🙌

As a kid from the 80s, I loved the K-Mart cafeteria!
These physical media episodes are kicking so much ass! 🤘

The Edde Entertainment/TZ Video VHS of Zombie was the very first release of that film I saw, back in 1994. It scared the hell out of me.
Great vid, I'd also like to include Rec, Train To Busan, Girl With All The Gifts and the 28 Days and Weeks later (not strictly zombies but I'd definitely put them in that bracket) films.

@20:17 you guys should clip this out of context or something? Hehe 😅
I wonder if electricity would have killed the zombies in Return of the Living Dead, if it worked in part 2.
Night of the living dead 90's remake was probably my favorite growing up. It us to come on tv all the time.

We need more of these collection videos. MORE!!!
Diamond was a low budget dvd company in late 90's early 2000's
I have Return of the Living Dead on Thorn/EMI HBO Video, Dawn of the Dead Thorn/EMI and Day of the Dead Media all VHS
Outstandingly awesome bro! I have all 3 too but from Anchor Bay. I did have those versions recorded when original VHS movies were to expensive to buy. Heck a blank Kodak tape cost $6 and a Radio Shack(best) $12!🤑

38:10 😲 I love that.

I own copy's of Night of the living dead, and Dawn that are 44 years old and Day from 86, they are my prize possessions.

Do you have any Camp Motion Pictures dvds?
I am not a fan of the Zombie genre. But I enjoyed the video.

I have a Blu Ray copy of Dawn of the Dead 78. I'd be willing to trade for something!
