I think the design is pretty smart. On my Stevens Gavere, I don't need any straps, it's water-proof where it matters (rain from the top), and thieves cannot simply take it off.
This is such a weird piece. Top tube bags have been around for a while and seem to really work just the way they are. Why wouldn’t you make two versions a screw-on and a strap-on. I get that you wanted to get rid of the steering tube Velcro but the way it’s hovering way over the tube tube and the overall shape really make it look weird . Ortlieb has so many great bags but they don’t seem to have figured out the top tube bag yet by always trying to be “extra”. The apidura race edition seems to be the better option still. Sleeker design, easy o use etc.
