Wow, that was a tense game! Although it wasn't high scoring, it was down to which team's pitching would crack more. In the end, both team's pitching was impressive. Team USA's bullpen did a great job limiting the damage to just 2 runs, and Captain America, Mike Trout, really carried Team USA in this game. Congratulations to Team USA on reaching the Quarterfinals!
As a Colombian/American, this was a great game, I am proud of both teams, I am impressed with Colombia growth in Baseball in the last few years! when growing up, as a high school and college baseball player, I did not know Colombians playing baseball but my brothers and I.
In Colombia the baseball´s season is short, only two months, but the teams are competitive. In fact, the last champion of the caribean series is colombian, Caimanes de Barranquilla, defeat venezuelan and dominicans teams. Here the baseball is popular in the caribean region.

It's honestly depressing having both Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani on the freaking Angels. Literally two of the best baseball players to ever play the game, and they are stuck on a team that will probably never see a World Series until they get new ownership. At least there is hope with Ohtani since he will be a free agent after this season, so hopefully he won't want to stay on that team even if they offer him a big payday. I'm hoping he ends up going to a team that at least makes the playoffs regularly and has ownership/management who actually care about winning games.

It's nearly impossible to predict who will win one baseball game. Over a 7 game series, yes. A pitcher has one bad game and a team can be out of a game very quickly.
Unless there is a personal rivalry between the two that I haven't heard about, there isn't much of a rivalry between their two teams. They are both in different league divisions so unless they meet in the playoffs (which is rare given how bad the Angels are), there isn't much going on. I was at one of the games last season where the Angels played the Dodgers in LA, and a lot of Angels fans were kind of intermixed with everyone else and all have a good time. It's not like the real rivalry between the Dodgers and Giants where we almost always see each other at the end of the season with critical division games. Their fans hate us, and we hate them. As it should be! The Angels fans, though? I just kind of feel bad for them.
